Join the new world

Quite a headline. Sanity in politics? Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Okay enough jokes. Its time to get down to business.

I have left the UK Reform Party and have joined The Unity Party. I have done so beacuse over the last few weeks I have become increasingly disillusioned and frustrated with the incessant and overly juvenile mud slinging going on principally among the two main political forces in our great country.

I am all for pointing out flaws and mentioning mistakes made in the past by certain people or parties... but then the discussion inevitably degenerates towards the classic kindegarten conversation between two angry children:

Angry Child One: You made a mistake!
Angry Child Two: Maybe but you did this!
Angry Child One: I did not!
Angry Child Two: You did!
Angry Child One: JERK!
Angry Child Two: LOSER!

And so on and so forth, I am sure that by now you have gained the general idea.

I guess that the main thrust of this article can be briefly summarised like this:

It's been said that the quest for sanity and truth is the noblest occupation of man, but there are dragons lurking in the Dark Forests of Politics. And the names of these dragons are "Juvenile" and "Deliberate Distortion" and "Sheer, Wrongheaded Idiocy." Our dear politicians here in the eUK have in the last few months bravely sallied forth to do battle with these dragons while they run our great country. It is with deepest regret that I must inform you that the dragons won.

To ALL political parties in the eUK. PLEASE I am begging you. GROW UP. Parliament or Congress or whatever you want to call it is supposed to be a place of reasoned discourse NOT a 19th century tavern brawl.

I sincerely hope that the politicians of our country take heed of this and other similar articles. If our politicians continue to ignore this, they will wake up one morning and discover that everybody left overnight.

PLEASE... I mean PLEASE... RESTORE THE OLD SANITY TO eUK Politics!!!!!
