Romania Attacked on Four Sides, USA Progresses through India, Days 1060-1061

Day 1,061, 09:14 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Although the ePakistani crusade of eIndia has cooled considerably, the Indian subcontinent is still awash in conflict as the eUSA has sponsored resistance wars (RWs) and subsequent attacks against eIndia to advance ever closer to Karnataka. On the European front, ePoland’s thrust against eRussia has halted, and eRomania faces attacks on four sides as the New World progressed through Day 1060 and into 1061.

Phoenix Attacks Romania on Four Sides, Russia Reduced to One Region
Despite a recent string of successes along the eHungarian and eRussian fronts, eRomania found itself on the receiving end of a four-pronged Phoenix counterattack on Day 1060. Moments after eRomania conquered the Volga against eRussia, it continued against eRussia’s pivotal high iron region of Urals 08:16, inviting an eRussian counterattack at Volga just 11 minutes later. Both fronts were secured by their defenders, but eRomanian progress was halted in eRussia for the time being; at 08:50 on Day 1061, however, eRomania attempted once more to advance on Urals. Despite eRussia's attack, however, eRomania successfully toppled eRussia's iron hub and reduced the Phoenix nation to one remaining region which is within striking range of both eRomania and ePoland; the region has not been attacked, but it is only a matter of time.

eHungary's win in Crisana (squared) brought on four new battles against eRomania
from four Phoenix nations on Day 1060, and put the EDEN power on the defense

Alongside the eRussian attack of Day 1060, eSerbia launched a spirited attack on eRomania’s native region of Banat at 9:12 eRep time and followed it with a strike against Oltenia late in the Day. The campaign in Banat raged over 24 hours after its commencement and was ultimately secured by the EDEN nation in defense. eSerbia had little to gain from winning Banat except that it would keep eRomania on the defensive and could have enabled eSerbia to push further inward. eRomania, on the other hand, may have realized that eSerbia represents the most formidable threat on its borders and could not afford to give this Phoenix attacker any opening for a wider invasion. If eRomania ever has losses accumulate to eSerbia, recovering territories would be a tough feat; this is not a reality eRomania needs to face in the mean time, as it successfully won both battles on this front in their defense.

As the third state in Phoenix's four-front wave, eHungary attacked eRomania at Transilvania at 11:08 eRepublik time, following its conquest of the native eRomanian region of Crisana. EDEN fighters opened a Resistance War (RW) for Crisana moments after it fell, although the resistance has failed to gain any traction. For its part, Transilvania is being well-contested and brings back memories of a more formidable eHungarian army taking on its historic rival. To add to the attacks was an eBulgarian strike on Muntenia later on Day 1060 at 20:23, opening a fourth front on eRomania and challenging a major population hub holding high grain for the country. The EDEN power could have felt the pinch as it was challenged on four fronts while fighting its own offensive on a fifth, but the day showed that eRomania rose to the challenge and overcame all Phoenix could muster on Day 1061.

USA Cuts Through India
Although ePakistan has been content with its gains, the Indian subcontinent continues to stir in combat. Day 1060 witnessed an eUSA attack on Andhra Pradesh, one of the few regions remaining under eIndian control. The attack came after a series of victorious RWs and attacks by eUS forces which, with the fall of Andhra Pradesh, put the North American country adjacent to Karnataka, a high iron haven which the eUS held for months and whose release led to the downward spiral in relations between the eUSA and eIndia. After conquering Andrha Pradesh, the eUSA has remained on the attack by striking and overwhelming Tamil Nadu, although eIndia has allotted little importance to this battle, instead urging its supporters to focus on RWs with ePakistan. Tamil Nadu is significant as the entry region for India from Southeast Asia through Southern Thailand, a region which is one step from eSerbian-occupied Eastern Thailand, which makes eUSA control of Tamil Nadu a necessary prerequisite before any move on Karnataka.

Of course, Karnataka remains under the watchful eye of ePakistan, its god, and its fearless leader. Were the eUSA to attack the high iron hub directly, it would need to first declare war on the Dioist state, which would risk bringing in thousands of foreign fighters worldwide; alternatively, a RW attempt on Karnataka could be feasible and followed by a quick attack, but this move would require a sizable gold investment without guarantee of success. Moreover, adversaries of the eUSA could hit vulnerable spots by targeting regions such as Far Eastern Russia during this time, to weaken the eUSA’s chances against Karnataka and instead rally to FER’s aid. In any event, any action against Karnataka-- if any were to occur--will not come until midday or later in Day 1061, when Tamil Nadu was presumably conquered and the most eUSA citizens would be available to take whatever action eUS leadership deems appropriate.

Wrapping Up
Clearly, there is much going on in the New World, and much carrying high implications. This comes despite two EDEN powers having a relatively quiet 24-48 hours, which underscores the importance of the battlefields mentioned in today’s report. EDEN and Phoenix can both score impressive gains against their adversary, so long as the nations fight smart, as various Defense Departments and War Ministries worldwide are advocating. Time will tell who stands high after Day 1061 rests in the history books.

God Bless America,
