Notes from 16 Wetstraat/Rue de la Loi, Day 1055
MaryamQ
Hello, eBelgium,
This has been an eventful few days in the New World. The most immediate change you will have noticed is the rapid rise in food prices, which has been of concern to business owners and consumers alike. Our Ministry of Finance has acted swiftly to get more grain onto the market in order to help reduce production costs. On their own initiative, several of our food producers have also attempted to control costs. I would like to commend the following companies for offering the cheapest food on the market, from lowest cost per health benefit to highest (but still lower than all other producers on the market): Res Belgica Food, food quality, food for salt, and Vegan Food Cooperative. It should be noted that these are not government owned companies, but privately owned, except for Res Belgica Food, which is owned by the party. These company owners are foregoing personal profits in order to help you, the citizens of eBelgium, and should be thanked for their efforts on your behalf.
We also have a possible opportunity for you to fight in the near future. After several days of debate in Congress, which you may find here, I have submitted a proposal for an MPP with eRussia. You will note there are valid arguments on both sides and very mixed feelings on the part of our leading citizens and Congress members. A poll vote has passed, but with almost as many abstentions as yes votes, although only 1 no. If you have strong feelings about this, you are invited to express them here or to contact your Congress member. The in-game vote, which is the official one, will continue until 18:35 game time on day 1,056.
Finally, I would like once again to invite you to visit our national forum, which you may find here, where you can join in games, discuss many topics of interest, and find help to play your best game.
Be well, eBelgians, and prosper!

Actually to be completely correct you should have said that the VFC has been supplying eBelgium with the cheapest food (at moments the cheapest from whole eRepublik) for more than 2 months. Only a few days after we stopped (a week or so ago) food prizes doubled. Is this a coincidence? Or do we deserve more credit than we got?
I would like to congratulate the new country administration in bringing the PEG to an accepted level again. Clearly grain companies are making loads of money for the moment and the current food prize is far from honest. We do still bring food at the lowest prize but to be honest we've gotten tired to only do good to eBelgium.
btw I don't think food companies are making loads of money cause nobody is buying their products.
@Kabouter Wesley: Those price comparisons were from a moment in time, in which your food did not even appear on the list. I have indeed noticed that you were supplying cheap food at other times. You are correct and should be commended for that, as well. I have a business, but not a food or grain company, and was actually operating at a loss. I have given it into a friend's hands to run without interference from me while I hold this office.
The Vegan Society has been a champion of the people for some time, as well. This was not meant as a slight to either of you or anyone else who has been supplying food at relatively low cost. It was simply an example of what I saw on the market at a particular moment as I was writing this article.
DONT MPP with Russia they cant help if you if you are attacked, they are under constant threat and battle with the USA and EDEN if anything Iwould choose Spain, Poland or Greeks
Bad idea we surrounded by Phoenix country what do you think they will do if we ally those countries.
Thanks for the update, v. People shouldn't read too much into one signed MPP- for a country whose population has had to sit out on so much action it makes sense to propose an MPP with a country likely to see a lot of fighting over the next month.
With respect from eUK.
