League of Allies Post-Op Debriefing
Gnilraps
Day 3591 of the New World
September 19 , 2017
League of Allies
Post-Op Debriefing Report
That was 5 days of pretty intense eRepping if you participated.
I’d like to debrief the event in three categories.
1. What was the event like for the eWorld?
2. What was the event like for my Military Unit, Easy Company?
3. What was the event like for me personally, Gnilraps?
I invite your feedback below. I know that Plato reads my newspaper articles, so if you comment below, he will see it. As you will see, I have a positive opinion about this event, and I want Plato to understand why it was good so we can perhaps see more such events again in the future.
Section 1: eWorld
I spent a good bit of time collecting data from as many citizens as possible to try an get an accurate picture of how this event impacted the New World. I now present my findings.
Thank you to the many citizens who contributed their data to my survey.
Montgomery League
Plato awarded 17,500 Gold as prizes for the overall top 100 leaders. He also awarded 250 Gold (50x5) for any citizen who completed the daily levels.
How many citizens completed all the daily levels?
Based on my research, I estimate that about 315 citizens in Montgomery completed all 4 prizes on all 5 days. So at minimum Plato handed out an additional 78,750 Gold. Of course the total amount of Gold awarded is higher because many will have completed fewer than the 100 points needed. Again, based on my research, I will estimate that the total Gold paid out in daily rewards in Montgomery was around 92,500 Gold.
So citizens in Montgomery scored a total of approximately 110,000 Gold.
Saladin League
Plato awarded 12,912.5 Gold as prizes for the overall top 100 leaders. He also awarded 200 Gold (40x5) for any citizen who completed the daily levels.
How many citizens completed all the daily levels?
According to my research, approximately 775 Citizens reached this level. Those Citizens then represent another 155,000 Gold awarded by Plato in the Saladin Division. In addition, another 450 or so citizens in Saladin reached half or more of the daily gold rewards. Let’s add about 8,000 more Gold for those citizens, and another 1,000 or so for citizens in Saladin who earned fewer points than that.
Citizens in Saladin scored a total of approximately 177,000 Gold!
Simon Bolivar League
Plato awarded 8,750 Gold as prizes for the overall top 100 leaders. He also awarded 120 Gold (24x5) for any citizen who completed the daily levels.
How many citizens completed all the daily levels?
Based on my research I estimate that 1500 citizens in Bolivar earned all 120 Gold from the daily awards. Are you ready for this? That means Plato handed out 180,000 Gold just in daily awards to those who completed all 4 daily levels! Somewhere around another 1200 citizens achieved half or more of the daily awards, so let’s approximate another 12,000 Gold there. Plus maybe 1500 more for the stragglers in Bolivar.
Citizens in Simon Bolivar scored a total of approximately 202,000 Gold! WOWZER!
Yes, Bolivar was the big winner!
Charlemagne League
Plato awarded 4312.5 Gold as prizes for the overall top 100 leaders. He also awarded 75 Gold (15x5) for any citizen who completed the daily levels.
How many citizens completed all the daily levels?
I must say that I have far fewer data points collected in Charlemagne (it was even more difficult to get data for Julius Caesar.) But based on my research, I estimate that 320 citizens in Charlemagne achieved the 180 points necessary to win all of the daily gold rewards. So that’s a total of 24,000 Gold handed out by Plato. Add an additional 4,700 (wild guess) to those who scored fewer than that.
Citizens in Charlemagne scored a total of approximately 33,000 Gold from Plato.
Julius Caesar League
Plato awarded 3,975 Gold as prizes for the overall top 100 leaders. He also awarded 50 Gold (10x5) for any citizen who completed the daily levels.
How many citizens completed all the daily levels?
Here we can know precisely. We know that it required 520 points to score all of the daily prizes in Julius Caesar. Looking at the Leaderboard, we know that exactly 61 people did this, earning a total of 3,050 Gold. Let’s guess that Plato paid out an additional 700 Gold to players who made fewer than the daily requirements.
Citizens in Julius Caesar scored a total of approximately 7700 Gold.
Let’s add it all up!
Totaling the above figures, I am estimating that Plato handed out, between daily Gold awards and Leaderboard prizes…
529,700 Gold
Now based on how popular Gold is, the ONLY conclusion I can draw from this is that this event was a profound success all over the eWorld. Players love receiving Gold, and much of that Gold was available to citizens for doing little more than fighting to their full food capacity every day. In fact, if my calculations are close, somewhere around 2881 citizens fought their way to full daily gold rewards.
Now to be realistic, that number is shockingly low if you consider that the only thing we really had to do was keep our energy meter running and make strategically placed kills around the clock for 5 days. In other words, we might say that there are roughly 3,000 people who are truly playing this game “hard”. We need better than that for eRepublik to flourish.
On the other hand, seeing all that Gold flowing into the economy is really exciting. This is the game we have, these are the players playing, and I’d guess that most of the players who are really committed to playing benefitted in some way by this event. I know of some really good players who didn’t score any event points during League of Allies. I won’t judge that. They’re good players and they pick and choose how and when they dive in.
But if you dove in during League of Allies and did at least the minimum amount of planning and fighting, you’re wealthier today than when you began. And in this game, that’s a win.
Congratulations, Plato, for making something this good for everyone.
Section 2: Easy Company
Most of you know Easy Company is my true cause for playing this game. EZC is how I express my generosity, my eNationalism, my comeraderie, and my best hopes for this game. It all happens in EZC. So you can imagine that we went all out as a unit so that anyone who wanted to make the most of League of Allies would be enabled by EZC.
Here’s what we did as a unit.
*We raised the salary of every worker in our “commune” to nearly a full market wage. We did this so that everyone could afford more resources.
*We continued to sell tanks to members at 50% discount from market price. We do this regularly, but in an event like this the tanks were really selling!
*We also offered full food to cover each Q7 weapon. So in theory our commune soldiers should not have needed to buy any extra food.
*We also offered discounted food for any members who do not participate in our commune system. We wanted our army to concentrate on fighting, not funding.
*We also offered housing loans for any commune member who wanted to activate more houses during the event. More houses meant more available damage. Those loans were, of course, interest-free.
*We increased our tank-supply-personnel so that tanks would arrive when they were needed.
All in all, we leveraged almost 1,500,000cc in support of our fighting soldiers.
The results were starkly obvious.
Twice during the 5-day event, Easy Company was the top-killing Military Unit in the eWorld!
In fact, Easy Company was, by number of kills made, the #1 Military Unit in the New World. Combining both Ground and Air kills, EZC made 342,554 total kills, narrowly surpassing Argentinian Y A G U A R E T E which had 341,056.
CURRAHEE!!!
On The Ground
Easy Company dealt a whopping 141,699,242,404 damage for the week. That’s over 141 Billion. For what it's worth, only 13 Nations scored more ground damage.
For perspective, here is what some other top MU’s di
😛
142,028,571,709 dealt by Slovenian Division.
141,699,242,404 dealt by EZC.
124,384,384,691 dealt by Y A G U A R E T E.
93,633,968,945 dealt by the Polish Civil Army.
90,011,670,53 dealt by -GAMA-.
All respectable numbers.
In other words, EZC was the second-highest damage-dealing Military Unit in the eWorld, behind Slovenian Division by a mere 329,329,305 damage. That’s basically how much damage I might have done in one Minibattle.
So Congratulations to Slovenian Division.
And CURRAHEE to EZC.
In The Air
Before the Air Combat was implemented, Easy Company had already identified Air To Air as an important new game mechanic, so we started an Airborne Unit and a Dual Thread Unit within EZC. We poured a lot of Gold and resources into helping to develop those soldiers to be able to dominate in the air. This contest showed that our investment paid off.
Easy Company dropped 22,958,723 worth of Airborne smackdown for our allies. Let’s put those numbers into global perspective.
Y A G U A R E T E dropped 28,675,173.
Easy Company dropped 22,958,723.
El Octavo Regimiento dropped 22,506,821
Polish Civil Army dropped 20,318,450.
Fortele Aeriene Romane dropped 17,948,371.
Bulgarian Air Forces dropped 15,077,129.
Karpat Dandar dropped 14,850,565.
Slovenian Division dropped 13,972,489.
So again, Easy Company was the second-highest damage dealer in the eWorld both on the ground and in the air.
Congratulations to Y A G U A R E T E for an amazing airshow!
And CURRAHEE to EZC for being awesome!
We are elated that so many EZC members were able to earn such a big chunk of the Gold offered as prizes. That’s why we do what we do in EZC, because we know our membership is the greatest, most well-organized unit in the game. When we come to play, we succeed.
From the perspective of an MU leader, the League of Allies event was a massive success. Plato managed to design something that was easy for our MU to organize. We had the necessary details in advance so that we could plan ahead, and there was nothing about the event that couldn’t be maximized from the MU platform. Great job, Plato!
Section 3: Gnilraps
I wasn't going to include this third section because I'm not really interested in tooting my horn. But so many people PM'd me asking about my statistics, energy usage, and so-on, I will detail my experience below.
Well, so I won my league. Here's my Gold intake:
I got 2,000 Gold for winning.
I got the 250 from the dailies.
I got another 2,000 for winning the Prestige Points for the week.
And I won 16 Sky Hero medals worth 480 Gold.
I won 38 Battle Hero medals worth 190 Gold.
I won 8 Campaign Hero medals worth another 40 Gold.
I Leveled up 24 times worth another 1,536 Gold (each level is 1 Gold plus 47 Energy bars worth of energy which is worth the equivalent of 64 Gold). I ranked up only once in ground and once in air.
So my total Gold income for those 5 days was 6,496 Gold.
Now obviously I had to lay out more than that.
My total energy spent was 1,180,800. I generated roughly 11,000 energy naturally. So my energy bar usage accounted for 1,169,800 energy. As you can tell, this meant I spent 11,698 energy bars give or take a few. Fortunately I had a large supply of single energy bars saved up, so not all of that was double bars bought with Gold. (I also benefitted from the EB’s gained from the weekly challenge).
However, 11,700 energy bars, if they were purchased for Gold, would equal 585 purchases of 10x200EB. At 27.3 Gold per purchase, that is the equivalent of 15,970 Gold. But remember I didn't buy all those bars.
So subtracting the value of what I won from the value of what I spent, my net personal investment for League of Allies was the equivalent of 9,474 Gold.
However, as I said, I had a significant reserve of single energy bars saved up. I probably spent about 8,000 or so of those. So in terms of actual outlay, those saved up bars are worth about 10,920 Gold. In other words, if I don’t count the single energy bars, I actually experienced a net gain in Gold of about 1,446.
Yes. I GAINED 1,446 Gold.
Of course we haven’t even begun adding up the amount of tanks and food consumed. I almost always fight barehanded in ATA battles, so there’s no need to account for missiles.
I do not have an accurate account of my kills data for just the 5 days. I did some additional tanking on subsequent days worth about 7 BH’s and 2SH’s and maybe a CH. I won’t count those, and instead of counting 52,000 kills which I had for the week I’ll say I had 45,000 kills during LoA. I like to use 3 kills per tank as an average number, so I estimate that I consumed about 15K tanks. These cost roughly $25cc. So I probaby spent 375,000cc or so on tanks. That’s the equivalent of about 785 Gold or so.
I don’t care about food. I ate it and had to buy it. I don’t know what it cost.
Tl;dr
Energy Spent: 1,180,800
Energy Bars Spent: 11,700
Gold won: 6,496
Gold “spent”: 15,970
For real Gold spent: more like 5,050
Tanks use
😛15,000
Fun ha
😛16 tons
All in all I am very pleased with the results of this event. I do not judge anyone for sitting out, I understand that the prizes were not designed to “break even”. But if you engaged it at the minimum you would have benefited, so I do hope most of my readers had as much fun as I did.
What made this event work, in my opinion, was that Plato attempted to design and event that actually worked with the existing game narrative. In past events, it is often a bizzare and unrelated design… something like killing rabbits or shooting snowmen or whatever. But in this event Plato made it a requirement to fight for your allies which meant that the event itself did not interrupt the flow of the game narrative, it actually used the game narrative as an integral dynamic. In some ways, we the citizens of eRepublik shaped League of Allies. Now admittedly, it screwed with Training Wars a bit, but a TW is a TW… not that big a deal ultimately.
So: Thank you, Plato, for designing a reason to go TANKING CRAZY, win pretty big prizes, and enjoy some legitimate competition while not screwing up the balance of the game.
It would have been nice to have a special decoration for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd btw.
I also want to compliment Plato for designing this contest so that it was perfectly balanced for Airborne Specialists and Ground Troops. It didn’t matter in this contest whether you fought Air or Ground, the mechanics worked out the same.
In other words, League of Allies was worthwhile, engaging, productive, and a positive experience for the eRepublik gaming community.
Now it’s your turn.
Tell me what you thought. I am willing to bet the 5K gold I won that Plato will be reading this article and the comments below. If you agree with me, give him a well-deserved “thank you”. If you disagree, well… go ahead and let him have it!

I had a lot of fun with it. While I didn't make the top 30 I did very well imho at 35. It was a well rounded event. I really hope they do this again or at least something of this nature
It was fun watching you in the ranks. You were awesome!
Yeah, it was super fun to watch Mel, fully packed, and fighting everywhere. 😛
Nice analysis

it was a great event for me
v
I didn't spent ebs to go to prizes.Only wanted decoration and took it very easy with ff.It was nice having an event again but not that much of my favour.
248 position with only 130 points 😃
I missed the whole thing!

Montgomery 78th
I spent a lot of bars in the Tuesday epic I would have spend anyway to advance to rank 400. But finishing at 37k PP recovered quite a good part of them. Still I did not finished in top 100 this week.
Then I spend 60 more to force a level up with less than one hour before the event ended (they were mad around 100th place).
BHs: one for sure, maybe more
CHs: none
SHs: none
Gold gaine😛 350G
Fun: not too much, except in the end
Love this
Great article. o7
This is my first this long article that i read here after long long time and it was worthed.
Also i agree with you it was nice tournament. I had lot of fun tanking 🙂
Thanks Plato 😃
you were awesome, almost #1
Good.
Thanks Gnil

Thanks Plato. It was okish. Though without saved Eb bars, the results would've been way different and at a loss. It's like the house never loses.
definitely
The event was designed to drain our bars. Didn't fool me. But if Plato had included a Tractor Skin in the rewards, shemale might have.
LOL yes, we need more skins!
voted, amazing analysis
We all love your articles but I have to say that this one is not really accurate as it is full of guesses assumptions etc. . Yet it gives us great info about the event in general. Glad you enjoyed it. Pity I haven't been active since the maverick pack came out as many loyal dedicated d1 players do the same not buying packs and being inactive.
i can tell you that my guesses are very accurate. I collected information from enough different players that I know what position players were in over all kinds of points scored. I know, for instance, that in Saladin there are citizens who scored exactly 120 event points and came on position 660 and 667. Easy to know about how many did that, especially when I have more data points below that.
These estimates are based on solid data.
I knew that u weren't making up numbers or anything. Don't get it wrong. All I wanted to point out was the guesses. I just don't believe that Plato does anything really good for us. That is the most accurate info I have about this game. 🙂
Because ... we are the best !!!
@Caesar: 48 points were required for the daily gold, so the total minimum would be a lot less than 520.
yes. this is a math error I must fix it.
I suppose that means even more players got the daily gold. I returned to the game a couple of months ago after a long time but didn't have a reason to train or work, just to troll - the only thing to enjoy for non-visas. One day before the event I got back on track - worth the effort (for the event, the game is still lame).
This event was all about numbers and easy gold innings and those who were active enough to be properly informed could earn some hard gold pretty easy. The only disappointing thing was it was only really ranked top 100 again which means for a whole lot of people it wasn't even in the charts to participate in the top fighters.
A big positive is that the event and the changes that it has brought with it opened debates in countries and alliances on how to organise themselves. Now we can only hope the Adm implement some more changes and get this game back on track now they have a little more players paying attention due to the event.
Good stuff.
¤ "there are roughly 3,000 people who are truly playing this game “hard”. We need better than that for eRepublik to flourish."
I don't know what is playing "hard", but
- I needed 24h to get the energy to make the 24pts daily, and I personally sleep @night... : v
- I fight for my allies (for some medals if no fight) so it's even already complicated to get the 16pts reward daily too, if you care about timing
- tbh I don't care about the event medal
¤ "Yes. I GAINED 1,446 Gold."
I guess it means that most of the people running for Top5/10/100 lost a lot of Golds with the decreasing of the rewards
¤ Now personally,
There were no important battle on my side, so it was just an usual week for me.

Thks for the article 😘
Interesting statistics.
Speaking for myself in Simon Bolivar league, I only tried to reach all daily goals. And because I'm not a 24/7 erep citizen I nearly depleted all my few single EBs (about 100 for the 5 days).
Btw does anyone know on what statistics players were grouped into the 5 leagues? A bit more than "based on the military activity during the last month" would be interesting.
That is probably top secret information. I doubt we will find out.
Never imagined read people tanking Plato...
Rainbows and unicorns.
Emperor's new clothes?
EZC! EZC! EZC!
it was fun if Plato could give you all the data you need to do your job. did you try to talk with support people?
Great Job Easy Company, Sgt Winters will be proud

I won 54 gold. Really few in front of yours, but I'm happy anyway.
Think i lost more than gained with this Event, Of course i got some XP so in that way probably was pretty even in that i got the most out of my EBs including alot of gold back. Also spent some extra EBs for other thing so didn't keep that much track of it.
Was in Saladin and did all the daily Objectives, i Wanted the Decoration 😛 gave up on being top 100.
