Just how much of an advantage do gold buyers have?

Day 1,620, 09:21 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Count Drakula

Hello there! It’s been a long time since I’ve done an article but I thought that I should make one to point out just how ridiculous the training upgrades could get. Remember however, this is purely for food fights and doesn’t include that gold buyers are likely to tank FAR FAR more often. As it stands we have Q1, Q2 and Q3 upgrades but what if we were to eventually end up with a Q6 upgrade and what could this mean for eRepublik?

First of all we can make the comparison between 3 different players that are all exactly 1 eYear old and let’s assume that they were all able to use Q3 upgrades throughout this year of playing. Player A does not concern themselves with the military module. Player B does not buy gold but uses their gold to focus on the military module. Player C buys gold and focuses on the military module.

To begin with we will work out how much strength they all have over the course of the year:

Player A will only train with the Training Grounds so gains 6.8 strength per day or 2482 strength in a year. Player B is difficult to calculate but I have attempted to calculate it anyway (I will link the spreadsheet I used to calculate it at the end of the article so you can tell me if I made any errors 😛). A new player can sustainably use a Climbing Centre by using HW and SS medals and their starting gold. In addition to this they can upgrade their training, both the free and 0.19G, to Q3 by the end of the year (assuming they get at least 0.058G in wages per day) with extra gold to spare; as a side note, Player B is better off getting Q2 0.19G training before you Q3 free training (they end up with about 220 extra strength). Taking in when they get a Q3, player B finishes the year on 6722 strength. Player C has the G to train in all facilities throughout the year with Q3 upgrades and therefore finishes the year on 22557 strength. Let’s just compare that with the player with the most strength in the eWorld, Marco Polo. Marco has 17,566 strength, so you could effectively have more strength than him currently on day 284 after doing full training at Q3.

It’s clear that gold buyers have the advantage in eRepublik, from my data Player C has 3.36 times more strength than Player B. It’s also interesting to note that the difference between Player B and Player A is smaller, Player B has 2.71 times more strength.

However, we all know that strength is not the primary thing to be concerned with, their damage output is. Initially, let’s say that none of them fight (even the gold buyer! 😮 ). Then, the possible damage for each person is as follows:

Again, gold buyers have the advantage, Player C does 3.22 times more damage than Player B and Player B does does 2.47 times more damage than Player A.

Now, let’s get slightly more realistic and say that they can all fight but the same amount, say 50 times a day.

Let’s start with the damage: Player C does 2.91 times more damage per hit than Player B and Player B does 2.74 times more damage per hit than Player A (Player A nearly does more damage than I do as well q_q). In terms of rank, Player A is General ***, Player B is Supreme Marshall and Player C is National Force ***, so over the course of the year Player C deals 4.27 times more than Player B and Player B has done 2.19 times as much damage as Player A. Player A has General *** on day 262 and Player C has it on day 131, before halfway through the year! Player C has Supreme Marshall on day 188.

Finally for our Q3 comparisons, let’s say that the gold buyer actually fights 150 times a day (still an underestimation compared to tanks) and the other two still fight 50 times.

Again let’s look at damage first, Player C does 4.11 more damage per hit than Player B and 11.26 times more damage per hit than Player A. Player C has also ranked up to Legendary Force **. They now have dealt a huge amount more, 14.35 times as much damage.

So overall for Q3 we haven’t got a major gap, discounting tanking fights. If we have 15 people who are similar to Player B we can beat a Player C for that year. But what if we were able to get higher quality training? What if we could use upto Q6? What would that mean?

Let’s add in another person for this, Player D. Firstly compare the strength:

Player D is basically DOUBLE the strength of Player C. Player D would be 6 times better than Player B in terms of strength. What about the damage?

Damage first, depressing overall rank points second. In terms of pure damage, Player D is 8.28 times better than Player B and 22.67 times better than Player A. As for overall rank points, they did 29.62 times more damage for the year than Player B, 29.62 times. They also reached God Of War rank on day 299, ranked up every other day from day 1 to day 20 and had Supreme Marshall (Player B’s end rank) on day 107, less than a third into the year.

Let’s just remind ourselves of a few things. First of all, the gold buyer has assumed to be conservative compared to the tanks of the eWorld who will do atleast 4 times as much fighting per day for every day. Secondly; this is only over a year, eRepublik will probably still be around in many years to come and the gap will widen and widen. Thirdly, that I’m a terrible author and sorry for wasting your time :3.

If you want to know maor about this, feel free to copy the spreadsheet I use😛

tl;dr: Gold buyers have a big advantage, but you knew that already, right?
