July Congress Elections: Is it a bird, is it Superman? No, It's Mursu!

Day 609, 03:32 Published in Japan Japan by Lauri Mursu

Welcome again to Mursu Political Times!

Who am I?
I’m Lauri Mursu, a politician who came to eJapan from eFinland about 3 months ago. My life in eRepublik began about 300 days ago and I was born in eNorway, as they occupied eFinland during that time. Back then I didn’t really get into the game, so my playing was really random and most of the time I just bought food for my eCitizen so that he wouldn’t die. Perhaps I knew back then that I was destined to play this game actively some day.

What have I done?
- current Vice-SECDEF of eJapan
- 2x congressman of eJapan
- 1x congressman of eFinland
- JIA squad leader
- eJapanese ambassador to eFinland
- Party President of Tequila Fitness Club

How did I vote this term?
- decisive vote to Kyushu matter: Yes
(I first voted no, but then changed my vote to the 2nd voting as new information was given. I still stand behind this Yes vote, as I think it’s more important to keep our current allies than making more enemies from old friends)
- MPP with China: Yes
- Issue Money: Yes
- All donations: Yes
- Hospital to Hokkaido: Yes

Why am I running for congress again?

The biggest reason why I’m running for congress again is that I want to have positive impact on this great community and I believe that the best place to make that impact is from congress.

I still believe that there is a lot to be done in eJapan. We have started the positive change and it shouldn’t be stopped now. Our government has become more transparent since I first got elected, and I’d like it to stay that way. We still need to get our congress more active in the forums and irc-discussions, but we are showing good progress in this.

I also feel that I can influence the army reformation best from the congress. As I am currently serving as a squad leader and vice-SECDEF I also have a good insight about army matters, but congress is the place where everything is decided eventually. Our army is a big unit at the moment, and after the reformation it probably will be a bit smaller, but more efficient as a unit. I’m supporting also more funding for the army, as our calculations show that eJapan chould afford some more.

eJapan deserves active, well-known politicians to it’s congress, and I sure am one of the active ones. You can always find me from eJapan irc (#eJapan @coldfront.net -- my nick: M-Ursu). If you vote for Mursu, you vote for a politician who doesn’t fear to decide by the facts and always thinks the best of eJapan.

Mursu is running from Chugoku!

TFC has a good list of candidates this month. Remember to vote for your local TFC candidate!
