It’s About the People, Stupid

They’re why I’m still here. And I’m pretty sure they are why the rest of you are still here. It’s not about pixelated money, or manufactured nationalism, or winning contests or awards or medals, or whatever.

It’s about the people.

Here are some of my favorites:

Melissa Rose, thank you for being my Chief of Staff. You were amazing, even when I was antagonistic (which was most of the time). Have fun being President, even if it should have happened years ago. You’ll do a good job.

Aramec, like goddamn. I’ve never gotten emotional over an article or a forum post. But you made me remember why I still hang around. Thank you for your magnificent St. Patrick’s Day Special. And thank you for running the Media Department. I have always said that Media is the toughest department to run. But you run it superbly.

Illiguy & EddieA, I was convinced that the two of you were going to be fired within the first week of the term. But you surprised me. And it turns out, you’re very talented Secretaries of Citizen Affairs. Thank you for running such a smooth department.

Yui, would you believe that people recommended I not use you as my National Security Chairperson? They did. But I’m glad I kept you on. You did a phenomenal job running COs for the dictatorship battle. And even though beating TDK is pretty easy, it’s still one of my favorite things of the term.

Molly Emma, thank you for educating me on my gin selection. And for giving me your advice for a month. You remain fantastic, and you should totally be President again. Don’t make us wait too long.

DMJ, thank you for your work with the New Citizen Message, DoCA and DoD. You were a wealth of knowledge even when we didn’t always agree.

Jaden, thanks for staying on as my Secretary of State. You’ll be President soon. Don’t forget that no one remembers the ones that play it safe.

rainysunday, thank you for doing rainysunday things.

Kemal, thanks for the… um… spirited debates. I value your opinion and analytics, even when I don’t listen to them.

Hale Kane, sorry things turned out the way they did. It certainly had nothing to do with you. Best of luck out there.

United States Worker’s Party, your nomination actually meant a lot to me. Your Presidential history is second to none in the country. And I was happy to win your nomination.

Wild Owl & NewAzazel, thank you for lending your foreign affairs advice all month. I literally couldn’t have done it without you.

Oblige &Pfeiffer, ya’ll need to figure your relationship out. Because I’m pretty sure I speak for the rest of the country when I say that we are sick of watching the two of you repeat the same argument everyday. It’s like Sisyphus, but worse.

Evry, look at all the shekels I got you. Just look at them!

Deepchill, thanks for threatening me on my first day in office (I jest). But seriously, EZC is still awesome. And this country is super boned without you guys. Much love and respect.

Delyruin, thanks for being my eleventh hour Secretary of Defense. Sorry I didn’t make you do anything.

Top Gun, thanks for checking in this term, albeit not all together. I miss you guys.

Tenshibo, I say ‘swag’ in real life now. And I have since we started working together. I hate you and love you for this. Actually, I think that I love you, but my wife hates you.

RaccoonGoon, you’re like, the smartest person playing this game right now. Stop dicking around, and get involved. You’ll be PotUS by Independence Day.

Proteus, you give good advice.

Custer, not anything this month. But thank you for all of the time you put into the WHPR. You’re the best ever. Take it easy out there. (I’m serious about that. Take it easy!)
