Investment Tips

Day 1,786, 12:09 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Equalist

Now that I have been around this place for a month, I have learned how the modules worked. After receiving a crash course on the economic module yesterday, I decided to take a step further and look at what places are best to invest. What I have learned is that for many months the economy has been a mess due to game mechanics. In many cases, the cost of raw materials means there is a loss in selling food and weapons. Food raw materials cost a couple of pennies, so there is not profit to be found their either. So this article will focus on weapons raw materials and looking at what is the best investment. Of course, the economy continues to be fragile and entropic in nature so statistics might change, but here is a starting point.

Below is a list of the weapons raw materials and the costs involved.

Type: Iron Mine
Cost: 1,500 GBP
Productivity: 35 (56)
Repayment: 390 days (244)

Type: Oil Rig
Cost: 3,000 GBP
Productivity: 70 (112)
Repayment: 390 days (244)

Type: Aluminum Mine
Cost: 4,820 GBP
Productivity: 125 (200)
Repayment: 350 days (220)

Type: Saltpeter Mine
Cost: 8,500 GBP
Productivity: 175 (280)
Repayment: 442 days (276)

Type: Rubber Plantation
Cost: 16,870 GBP
Productivity: 250 (400)
Repayment: 613 days (383)

Notes:
• Initial cost for aluminum and rubber is paid in gold. The exchange rate is based on the current 1 gold = 482GBP.
• Productivity is based on initial production and a bonus of 60% in parentheses.
• Repayment is based on one raw material = 0.11 GBP.

Through this information, it is best to invest in aluminum mines as they will have the quickest repayment. However, all this can change depending on current economic conditions such as the bonus resources gained or lost by the country, the cost of raw materials, and the gold to currency exchange rate. It can be risky business investing, and in most cases it is not worth it due to game mechanics. Who knows what the economy will be like in 8-12 months when these investments begin to pay off? It is impossible to know the answer to this. What is clear is that if you want to get rich, you are going to need a lot of patience.
