India: Winners and Losers, and how we became an alliance whore

Hi gang. This is not going to be a pleasant article to write nor to read. It's not my intention having been here less than a month to write an article that will cause a flame war and presumably force me to leave eIndia. But there are certain things I hold dear. I hope you hold them dear too:





Now these are the things that a lot of us just take for granted in real life, but in the meantime, we can spend hours playing this stupid, pointless great game where we can experiment in a political, military and economical version of the real thing.



So, because I'm Irish in RL, I tend to have traits that I assume are close to my RL Indian colleagues. Seeing as we were a British Colony for 800 years (yes, that's right 800 YEARS), and seeing as you had a little stint too, it tends to make freedom and democracy something we both hold dear.

As for loyalty? Well, this is something that makes a nation and makes a person. If you don't have it, then you're worth nothing.

So, when I joined this great country, which has the most fantastic opportunity to become a powerhouse in eRepublik, it was an honour. It was also an honour to be brought in by the MoFA Alector because it indicated real trust. As I said to Alector at the time, I intended to stay here for 6 months and make a good name for myself as:

A Contributor to the community using my media skills
A good fighter in D4 for India giving 4m per day, everyday
To analyse the MU structure and advise on changes
To at all times honour the freedom, democracy and loyalty that India has always been famed for in eRepublik

I have kept my word, but some in India have not kept theirs.

The first issue that arose was the referendum to leave EDEN. This was not a referendum, it was a rigged farce designed to ensure the result it gave. The kind of democratic voting system associated with countries like Zimbabwe. You can read my article about it here

But what was really disappointing was that there was no need to rig the result. No need to cheat. No need to publish those that voted and to be ridiculed afterwards. I have no doubt that if a proper vote had been cast, people would have agreed to leave EDEN. So why didn't this government do it? I'll tell you why.

Because this government will not trust its people. They will not allow us a democratic vote, and they will not even allow Congress a democratic vote. Freedom for them is just another word to be ignored, and loyalty to the functions of the state go out the window as long as the junta gets its way.

So then India, who are the winners and the losers of the current situation?



Croatia wins. Once India 'voted' to leave EDEN Croatia took the gloves off. No more Mr. Nice Guy (not that they were ever really nice). While India kept their word and fought with Croatia against Indonesia, Croatia just considered us a bunch of cowardly fence-sitters seeing which way the wind blows, before deciding what side of the fence to land on.

So what do you know? Against all the odds Croatia survive against CoT/Indonesia. Now they put their attention back to us. You'll remember all we had was a useless MPP with Argentina, in the meantime we signed another MPP with Australia. But what's this coming down the tracks? Why! It's an NE from our old friends Thailan😛



And how does India respond to this. Why, we sign up as many MPP's as we can:




Now all these are pro-EDEN countries, but China is our most important ally because unlike Croatia, they will never be gone and we are likely always to have a border with them.

But Croatia aren't impressed. It suits them all too well to have Thailand take over southern India and come up with some excuse to NE India. So for Croatia this wasn't about alliances or territories, or threats from Indonesia, this was all about wiping India, getting total control over her regions and resources and behaving like the hegemonic power they pretend to be.

But don't forget, it took an incompetent government to not only give them this ammunition, but to put the muzzle of the gun in our mouths too.

But wait! There is another winner here:



What we have is an elite junta in this government that have got exactly what they want. Not because they are clever politicians that have enacted a cunning plan. No, they've taken advantage of a situation where no-one will stand up to them. Not Congress, nor any of the political parties. This is what they have achieve😛

They made India leave EDEN without offering us a proper referendum. When the illegality of the referendum was pointed out to them, they just ignored it as democracy isn't important to this government, nor is freedom of choice.

They did this, because they wanted a way out when Croatia was wiped by Indonesia. So brave Indian soldiers fought for Croatia and helped them survive while our government hid in its bunker saying and doing nothing.

But when Croatia survived and we were NE'd by Thailand, suddenly we couldn't get enough EDEN allies, especially the one country we need to have as a friend China.

You've seen the logs the other day between Croatia and India as far as our respective MoFA's were concerned. No real effort by either side to heal the rift. Just insults and childishness. So both get what they want. We know what Croatia got, so what did our junta get? Well, they got this:












That's right. Our 'government' has taken a carte blanche to go around every CoT and TWO country in the entire world like a cheap whore looking for alliances. ANY alliance will do. Doesn't matter if the alliance is with countries that are quite frankly, exceptionally unpleasant conquerors of smaller nations, constantly keeping them wiped or 'allowing' them a region so they can have congress.

And I can tell you, apart from Indonesia rejecting the MPP, there are a lot more to come, and a lot more that just said no, or laughed at our desperation

No, this government doesn't care about who we are allied to. This government are just interested in surviving the mess it and Croatia caused.

Finally, this junta gets its ultimate goal knowing that having made this great country a minion of TWO and CoT. A pawn to be used to get at China, that at least they will get rid of something they actively dislike.



That's right. UAG are not going to be here fighting for Poland and Spain, and so depending on how the CP election goes, you can expect them to be leaving this country very soon.

Good riddance! some of you will say. But to lose 25% of your influence and your key D4 units is disastrous. What's really bad is losing their experience in everything like warfare, administration and politics. It will be a big blow, but it will suit our other winners down to the ground.

Make no mistake, there are some very happy eIndians out here now. Out of EDEN, into the arms of TWO and getting rid of UAG. But is there a price to pay?



The real loser is India. Remember these ideals that we talked about at the start?





Well, we can say goodbye to those attributes right now. I would prefer to wipe a thousand times than to whore myself off to every alliance I could find.

I would never, ever, enter into an alliance with countries that are determine to wipe a friend and neighbour that I had an MPP with (that's China by the way)

But at all times, I would always, always, allow the people to make an informed decision and listened to their feedback before I made momentous decisions like this.

The government has failed its people, it has acted like a dictatorship. When you go to the polls on the 5th of January, I hope you remember that.
