Hexshade For IRF PP

Day 3,311, 21:15 Published in Ireland United Kingdom by Hexshade

While some of you may find my articles humorous (I can't imagine why), this article will not possess much of that. This is a more serious article. For the first time since assuming the role of IRF Party President, I run opposed. While I was content to remain quiet about it and let the people decide based solely on merit, some thought it best to publish an article to attempt to persuade voters. While I feel that writing articles the day before elections to be slightly petty, I felt it necessary to address a few things. This is why you should vote Hexshade for PP of the IRF tomorrow.

1) My Service to the Party
Over the last few days, the grievance has been addressed that I don't do enough for the party, due to my lack of PP articles and my general lack of explosive rhetoric. While I do lack in both of these areas, what some fail to comprehend is the scope of backdoor politics that have to go on. I receive upwards of two dozen telegrams each day doing all of the business required as the Head of the Opposition (a claim which I will address later). Much like the Chief Executive of any country, their work is like an Iceberg. Most of it is unseen and unrecognized. While the showiness and the fanfare is great, the real politics of the game happen down at the foundation and have to be done without any kind of desire for recognition or fame. In fact, when the whole debacle about having a national referendum for democracy was going on, I was the leading voice in that. I instigated those discussions and was one of the leading voices for change. How many knew this? Little to none. Only those directly involved with my dealings, and many of them don't even know the scope of what I was planning. This is because I don't care about fancy rhetoric or fame and glory. I care about the party. I care about democracy. I care about representing my constituents. I have performed my duties humbly and without ever having to fire up conversation or write an inflammatory article.

2) I Best Represent Party Views
What some have failed to realize in the past few days is that the IRF is not a leftist party. It's not a Communist or Socialist party. It is an Anarcho-Syndicalist party. Key Term: Anarcho, or Anarchy. Some claim that I am not dedicated to democracy or that I have sold out to the dictatorship. This could not be further from the truth. I have actually struggled with this for a while, because, while the game mechanics provide for democracy, nothing close to Anarchy exists. I felt wrong advocating for the game's version of Democracy because it directly clashed with party views. But it was the lesser of two evils and so I went for it. Then along came the Dublin Commune. While crude right now, it is evolving into something beautiful. It is becoming direct democracy. It is becoming a form of Anarcho-Syndicalist Government. It is the closest thing to the party ideology possible in the game. So when they say I've sold out to the dictatorship, it might be partially true. I'd would prefer you say I'm compromising (which is what democracy is all about) and allowing a major social experiment take place in eIreland BEFORE stating my opinion on it or rejecting it. It is merely me reflecting party ideology. If I have to side with the Junta to do that, so be it. I mean, it's really not that bad. Some of leading advocates of Game Mechanics Democracy want a Constitutional Dictatorship. I'm simply advocating the form of "Constitutional Dictatorship" that best reflects my constituencies views. If you want Marxism or State Socialism, The ILP is probably a better option.

3) My Demeanor
While this may be more of a character analysis, I still believe it's relevant. As addressed before, I don't like fiery, Trumpian rhetoric. I try my hardest to maintain a cool, level head in every situation. I don't like to be confrontational. This is a major point in my favor. Look to some other people who do use the fiery rhetoric. While this is useful, necessary even, in some cases, it's constant use causes it to lose its luster and eventually it causes the message to fade as well. The message being delivered gets so muddled in all of the passion, the emotion, that it becomes impossible to unravel, whereas a calm, level-headed presentation of the message makes it very clear what the message is, and creates a mutual respect between both parties, allowing for proper discourse and the possibility of a compromise. I, throughout my time on eRep, have done my best to be nothing but courteous and respectful, while still firm in delivering the message and look where it has gotten us. We have transformed the country from a full Military Dictatorship to a Direct Democracy. A complete 180, powered solely by respectful discourse and calm demeanor. And in any case, while Winston Hope Smith is effective in his use of rhetoric, two PP's using the same rhetoric would be too much to handle. At the very least, WHS needs someone calm and without fiery rhetoric to balance the message out. I am that person. (Think how Trump and Pence balance one another out).

While your vote is your own and you can use it however you please, I felt it necessary to make some things clear to you. Whatever should happen tomorrow, I know that the voters were well informed, and that their choice as to who should be the next IRF PP was one based in knowledge, not ignorance.
