Halloween Competition - I'm Back!

Day 709, 16:53 Published in Ireland Ireland by einberliner

Hi all,

It's your very own donut, back from her real world travels and planning her eRepublik ones. In the meantime I have a little too much time on my hands and so I thought I'd put together a little Halloween quiz for my fellow eIrish, just a little bit of fun for those who want to participate. I'm hoping to give out little prizes for the winners though it'd be next week before I could pass those out - I'm due some gold then. Maybe 2g or some q5 bread or a q5 weapon. Something decent but I won't know what for sure until I see how things pan out next week (I already have my moving ticket so that's not a problem) . I'll give on prize out at least, and three if things work out okay. Can't say fairer.

Anyway here are the questions in three rough categories. If you wish to participate please PM me with your answers (if you reply with them in a comment you'll be making it easier on your competition). I'll accept submissions up until noon eRepublik time on Sunday 1st November.

Also please shout this out and vote this up, I want as many people as possible to get a chance at it and because I was away there's plenty of new faces I don't know yet, sadly. You don't need to know all the answers to participate - it's entirely possible no-one will get full marks so just do your best, you never know your luck!

Films

1) Which horror movie advises you to never say 'I'll be right back' because, if you're in a horror movie, you won't be?
2) What connects the leading ladies of 1960's 'Psycho' and 1978's Halloween?
3) Scream 2 and I Know What You Did Last Summer share a supporting actress that is far more famous for a horror-genre TV show - which show?
4) Which now-megastar made their movie debut in Nightmare on Elm Street?
5) Which film's tagline was 'You Can't Cheat Death'?
6) Who, and in which film, declares that a boy's best friend is his mother?

Myths and Urban Legends

1) According to urban legend what you should never mix with coke?
2) And what allegedly happens if you chant 'Bloody Mary' in front of a mirror?
3) Rumors persisted for years that you could see a ghost during one scene of 'Three Men and a Baby' - what, in reality, is it that you see when you see the 'ghost'?
4) What bodily organ is the usual subject of an urban legend where a person wakes in a bath of ice with a note telling them to go to the hospital because said organ has been taken to be sold on the black market?
5) Which country is famous of the legend of the 'hungry grass'?
6) What, in Irish, is the correct spelling of the 'Land of Youth' and where would you find it?

Misc

1) What is Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia?
2) What is xenoglossy?
3) What does Samhain mean (I'll take either of two answers for this), what dates (there should be two) can it be said to occur on, and what is the name of the holiday most people celebrate in it's stead?
4) From which bloodthirsty historical figure did Dracula's name come?
5) According to modern literature to which metal is a werewolf vulnerable?
6) Giles Corey, a Salem resident who was accused of witchcraft, was pressed to death when he refused to plead guilty or innocent. His last words were "I curse you Corwin and all of Salem!", but what were his most famous words?

P.S - You can use google or similar if you want - I'll have no way of knowing if you do or not anyway.

P.P.S - If you want to/feel like it please feel free to post any trivia/odd facts about Halloween or related things in the comments on this article. You'll notice I tried to avoid outright spoilers in the film section - please do the same. Thank you!

With love,

The Donut
