Giving school. Teaching me. Again Old school this time

Day 1,437, 22:11 Published in South Africa Norway by Enriche2Ribeiro

New players and old a like will enjoy our next teacher. I was running around doing things when this player crawled out of the wood work

Everyone welcoming him back…I didn’t know he had even left 🙂. SamGibz, so I sneek up on him drop a sheet of paper with questions in his hand and say fill in for the good of the country 🙂. He did and here is what he said (Caution old people are normally long winded🙂 ).

1. How long have you played this game?

It (the game) says I joined eRepublik on the 7th June 2009. Therefore I have been playing for nearly 2 years 5 months. I suspect that the period of which I was playing the game is 2 years as I have not been consistently active throughout that time. I feel old now (experienced - tick).

2. Where have you been for last couple of months?

New players will still remember this place, older player may have forgotten.
I have been in the world of real life. Around May I had my university exams and so I had to depart in order to pass year 1.
I came back for a short while but I need to get a job to recoup some money over the summer for this year. I managed to get a job but after so long of playing then getting out the game for a short while I have to admit my interest was lost and being unable to be active regularly, it seemed so much hard work to play and so I was not enjoying myself. Coupled with other commitments and a budding relationship with my now girlfriend, I couldn't do everything (Human being – tick)

3. What would you advise new players that have just started the game?

Advice to new players. Well, for the people who play in general, remember real life comes first and that this is only a game. It is played to be enjoyed also. (This is only a game? Wake up from trance and notice wife for first time in 4 days)
In game advice would be to be as socially active as possible and talk to a wide range of players. The more friends you have the more potential freebies to give you a leg up! The more you involve yourself, the more fun you will have and the more friends you will gain.
Don't spend all that gold at once. Save it. Different players will give you different advice on where and how to spend it but I think it is somewhat dependent on the current eWorld affairs and eCountries affairs. Just remember that gold is very hard to come by (and very epensive).
Obviously do the whole get a job and train thing regularly.
Don't expect to become a President of a country quickly. It takes time just like with real life politics. Also things often don't go your way as people often don't share your views. eRepublik runs on a democracy (most of the time) and so slowly build up your support. I think that will do! (Tip giver – two ticks)

4. What part of the game is your favorite aspect?

All of it, at some point in my eCareer. I started off and enjoyed making some money. I think I then got into the military side and eventually into the political scene. The social aspect is always important and I guess must be my favorite as my strong view of it is consistent throughout. (Always on the forums – tick)

Let us take a break from this for a while and digest all that has been said.

Stop, think, reflect and take a short jog through the meadow.

Now back to the lesson

5. What is your opinion of the state of eSA at the moment?
(Oprah enters room and pulls up a chair and stares at SamGibz)

I have not been able to judge the nitty gritty yet but it seems in a much better state to how I left it!(oprah sighs in relief)
We seem to be a lot more secure, our military figures look large, the economy is growing and there are a good mix of players. I think the Minister of Finance could increase the Tax marginally, after all, I read we are only raising 5 ZAR a day from it (Crumoet raises eyebrow and cocks shotgun). I don't know the strategy on this mind you.
Perhaps ask me this question in a months time and I will be able to give you a good answer. (SamGibz signs commitment to do second interview)
After one day back I still don't know our allegiances! (simply friends with people who hate eIndonesia)

6. What are your views of the case against the serial sheep shagger Chubbzilla?

I love sheep too but this does not mean I go around shagging them! I know Chubbzilla's history ... he is ALWAYS guilty. (Hands statement to Crumoet as evidence in trial)

7. Who would you support for next CP elections?

Whatever President shows strong leadership and I think will do best by this country and make us proud. On a side note, Oprah is good from what I can see. (Requests payment from Oprah).

8. Would you ever feature on our local HOT SEAT

Ahahah! I just checked it out! I would love too! Looks like great fun! That is the best idea to happen in eSouth Africa for ages. (Next victim? – tick)

9. On the battlefront which nation don’t you like? Will we see you in assegai any time soon?

Don't know really. It changes all the time. Regarding the Assegai, I doubt it. The life of the military routine is over for me. I like my freedom to move where I like but I still see the general orders and fight in all important eSouth African battles. The work the do mind is great and so everyone should defiantly have a spell in the eSAAF.

SamGibz…

As I wrap up this article, I’m reminded once again of the role older players and the impact they can have on us as new players. The knowledge learnt and experienced by these individuals is vital to the growth of new players and old a like.

Again Thanks a lot,
