Hello,

the political module went through several changes in the past, but it doesn't seem like it has reached a point where things would seem right. There are basically two points in time when we all experience the downside of the system. The first one being the Party President election and the second is getting a political party in the top 5 ranking just before the Congress elections. In both cases the amount of spam and irregularities are beyond most people's liking and is something we'll have to live with. Until the next change in the module that is...

When it comes to political parties and the eUSA, we can only speak of four of them. Their combined strength during the last Congress elections secured 68% of the American votes. In actual people, that is about 1800 votes, what is only slightly more than what we had in eMacedonia. These are the ones where it currently matters to be in:

American Military Party
Federalist Party
United States Workers Party
We The People

By now you are probably wondering if I at all know the mechanics of the game. Some of you probably want to yell "it's top 5, not top 4 you ignorant idiot". Well, that's true. I'd even say it's top 6 that's important. The thing is that these two other parties are not exactly American, so if you want the American experience, don't go there. They are American Freedom Alliance and Euro American Union.

That should be enough with the boring and rather globally known facts. The real reason why I wanted to write this article is cultural differences really, or the lack of it. You see someone once said that he "understands the world as a playground where people compete with their cultures". Like a game where you put your strongest culture elements against the ones of other people. Just that in a real game there is usually a winner and a bunch of losers. In this case everybody gains by learning a bit more about others and then maybe even incorporating some foreign bits of culture in themselves.

Our eWorld gives us this playground, but it also makes life difficult in some areas. You see the whole concept is based on different cultures, so when you meet an American, a Brazilian, a Russian, what you expect is that you will actually speak with someone from that culture. It really isn't fun when you eventually find out it's someone coming from somewhere else completely. It forges the image of the culture and distorts one's view on things. After a couple of misinterpretations like that, well, people simply give up on the concept...

I don't like to give up. I don't like that people end up in their comfortable corner of the eWorld where everything is known and you can't get screwed. I understand that ptoing is a part of this game, but I don't have to like it. I will also fight against it as it takes away the fun of competing with the cultures. And I do like to have fun 🙂
