We've alle heard it - there will be a new military module, and it's gonna be great. Some even understood that there was a rock-paper-scissor-system - and most only understood that we would be able to use tanks.

But actually, it's more comlicated. One of the changes will be that you no longer have a wall that it "built up" or "broken down" - no, now it gets more realistic:

The initial battle runs for 24 hours. If the attacking side managed to capture a certain percentage of all hex fields, including the region's capital city, the attackers will have captured the region; and vice versa for the defenders in securing region.

There will also be PvP fights - meaning that the military will have a completely new role in fighting. No more "2-clickers with weps and timing" but Squads fighting in an area, and generals trained in warfare. But not only that; there is still more:

We used two rock-paper-scissor methods to add tactical momentum to battles: infantry units have an advantage against artillery unit; artillery unit have an advantage against helicopters; while helicopters are strong against tanks, which are strong against infantry. You can still compensate advantages of your enemies by moving in certain terrains.

So, what to say? Tactical advancement, a game like the famous civilisation, and a game were timing, technique and level all are important for winning a battle - what elsecan you hope for?

We will, of course, need a military reform for that. RN divisions might be ordered by their specialisation, SF will have a very new role, and Commanders will be chosen even more often because of their tactical skill. The weapon industry will have a completely new challenge, more people will buy, but there will be a bigger variation of weapons. What if most people decide to produce tanks? That will make tanks cheaper, but it will also change the importance of helicopters which are strong against tanks. Economy and Military will be influencing each other even more than now - and government will have to prevent that from dangering their safety.

Oh yeah, we do live in interesting times.
