DonMogul - I Was There and I am Still Here

Ladies and Gentlemen, brothers and sisters and of course trolls and trollettes. Today is the day that DonMogul announces that he is running for the office of Country President.

I was there to see alliances and empires rise and fall. I have been here since near the beginning.

I am here today to ask the honour of your support and your vote in the coming Presidential elections.

I will rebuild our military from the ground up.

I will have our political system work as a team.

I will make our social life in eRepublik more active.

I will leave our nation economically stronger than when I gain office.

I will have our nation as secure as possible from external and internal threats.

I was there to see our nation born - and I am still here to ensure our nation becomes stronger!

The Long Version

I stand before you as a veteran of the game. I have been here since very near the beginning of eRepublik (I joined while it was invite-only beta).

I was there to see alliances like the old PEACE and ATLANTIS rise and fall.

I was there to see countries like Romania establishing mighty empires and then watch them crumble from within.

I was there to witness the day that ATLANTIS devoted much energy into PTOing Indonesia.

I was there to witness my real life homeland Australia return to the eRepublik map ending a very long occupation.

I was there to see Serbia begin from its humble origins in Austria.

I was there and fought for a free India during the Indian Independence War (weak though I was at the time).

I am here today, standing before you as an eRepublik veteran to ask for the honour of leading our great nation.

My Cabinet

I am going to break from tradition and not nominate people for Cabinet positions. This will allow some new blood a chance to gain important roles in the Indian Ministry - and give us a much needed breath of fresh air.

If you believe you have what it takes to be a Minister for the greatest nation in the world send me a message - tell me why you should be the Minister and what experience you have had that would benefit the position.

The following positions are available in my cabinet:

Minister of Foreign Affairs (MoFA)
Minister of Internal Affairs (MoIA)
Minister Of Finance (MoF)
Minister of Media and Culture (MoMC)
Minister of Immigration (MoI)
Head of Congress (to be elected by the Congress at the time)

The more alert amongst you may have noticed that the Minister of Defence isn't mentioned in this list. Which segues nicely to...



Our Armed Forces

Let us be honest with ourselves for a moment. Our war with Thailand hasn't exactly been a star studded success. Our failure at most points to co-ordinate our hits has been (I'm afraid there is no other word for it) a disgrace.

Now with this in mind, why doesn't the Minister of Defence appear in my proposed cabinet?

I intend to take personal charge of our military and rebuild it into the fighting machine it is supposed to be. I will work together with the MoFA and MoF to oil the cogs in our military machinery. At the end of my term - if I achieve nothing else - the Indian Armed Forces will be a properly organised army ready to fight for our nation and her allies at any time.

Why is the MoFA involved? This minister needs to be aware of how our military works and its ability when discussing certain issues with other nations.

Why is the MoF involved? Anything we do will need money. The MoF will be on top of our budgetary requirements and will make sure our fiscal policies don't harm us in the long run.



The Politics

I will work with the Head of Congress to ensure that our law making body is aware of the issues facing our nation and what I, as President, intend to do about it. I will seek to have Congress' approval for each policy improvement that I make.

In short, I intend to make our Ministry and our Congress one big team.



The Social Side of Things

I shall be working with the MoI to entice citizens to our nation. On my end I shall be asking my local newspaper to advertise eRepublik and I will enourage these people to join India. Any bonuses I get as a result of obtaining the Society Builder medal or any gold bonuses received from these referrals will be donate directly to our bank.

I will also work very closely with the MoMC to breathe more life into our media. It seems to me at times that there are only 2-3 people writing articles - in my term I aim to re-create the old buzz that was in the Indian media.

I will also take a leaf out of Prabal's book and give you regular updates on what is going on in the Presidential office!



Economically Speaking...

For our size, we have a strong market economy. I will be working with the MoF to make it even stronger.



National Security

While the MoFA will be ensuring that threats outside our borders are minimised as much as possible, the MoIA and I will be working to ensure that problems within our own borders are solved.
