Department of Information Gazette No. 02-31/05/09
eAus Department of Information
Fellow Australians,
We apologise for the one week delay in relaying information to the public regarding activities of the Cabinet. We are in the middle of structuring a suitable framework for all Ministers and Deputy Ministers to be as transparent and accountable as possible to the eAustralian public. As a result, there are some reports from last week as well as this week.
If you can think of anything you would like covered specifically, please feel free to get in touch with myself, Deputy Minister Maverick Goh or Minister Xavier Griffith, either by eRep IM or Forum PM.
Here are the reports:
Department of Information:
As mentioned above, we are in the middle of creating a structure to help Departments to be more accountable to the public. As such, we have created a new Department of Information website for ministers to post weekly reports and for the public to view them. You can find the website here: http://doif.auserepublik.com/
We recommend our citizens registering for updates and any new posts will be notified via email.
Department of Finance:
Report from 18-23 May 2009 by Deputy Minister Ranger Bob:
Tim09 and I have continued to monitor the eAustralian
Finances, and I can report this week we are in a respectable financial
position, due in part to an influx of new citizens (averaging around
20-30 a day) and pending printing of some AUD for the eAustralian
Economy. As I write this article, I can report: Treasury Funds:
$9,458.26 AUD and 48.23 Gold NBA: $16,068.42 and 796.19 Gold A donation
proposal will have transferred surplus AUD across to the National Bank
by the time you read this report. Outcomes from the recent budget round
are now known. The Senate has approved the printing of an Additional
40,000 AUD from 200 Gold, as well as 7 Gold for the creation of an
organisation and Newspaper which will be oversighted by the Minister of
Information. An additional proposal that has been now approved is the
establishment of the Reserve Bank of Australia, which shall undertake a
trial program to see whether Treasury Funds can be increased. A proposal
for the creation of an organisation and paper for the MoFA was not
approved by the Senate. Kind regards and next update next week.
Department of Industry:
Report from 18-23 May 2009 by Minister scotywest:
Ok MoI have been given to Aussie Vegeta now so i will rest uup and do
some Indo chatting and helping out the PM.
Department of Foreign Affairs:
Report from 18-23 May 2009 by Deputy Minister Mouj:
This week, after the last catastrophic week, has been a pretty boring
week in Foreign Affairs. I have opened up relations with Brazil and
Indonesia about MPPs and I have had a reply from the Brazilian MoFA, but
not Indonesian one.
Report from 24-31 May 2009:
This week I was AWOL for most of the time, but I do understand that
Zaney has retired and I'll probably be moved up to MoFA. I also
understand that Atlantis broke up due to internal matters i.e. the US
wanted to be neutral. More on that when I understand more.
The Senate:
The following proposals and bills have been placed before the Senate:
Election of Senate Speaker and Deputy Speaker:
Senator Preditorian has been elected as Senate Speaker for this term, while eViL nUt has been elected as Deputy Speaker.
[Bill] One-Off NSW ANP Senate Correction Bill :
This bill was proposed following a confirmed bug which happened during the recently ended Senate elections which prevented ANP candidates from NSW from running. It is currently waiting to be voted on in the Voting Hall. For more information: http://tinyurl.com.au/x.php?1ttc
Code of Ethics Bill :
This bill was proposed following events where one senator has opened up a civil case against another senator. It aims to outline what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour for a cabinet or senate member and the consequences of breaching this code of ethics. For more information: http://forum.auserepublik.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1102
Military Structure & Logistics (05/09) Bill:
This bill outlines the official units of the Australian Military, their roles and their supply methods. This bill has been passed by the Senate. For more information: http://forum.auserepublik.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1002
Cabinet Protocol Act - Code of Conduct Amendment:
This amendment was done to help differentiate comments made by Cabinet/Senate members as either personal/private or an official statement. This amendment has been passed by the Senate. For more information: http://forum.auserepublik.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=960
Comments
We apologise for not being able to provide links to the different bills and proposals. I have been trying all afternoon but the links have not worked.
That explains why the article dissapeared when i was halfway through reading it before 🙂
Why is there a "Code of Ethics" within a closed area but not one in open forums? Is it so the whole world can see the childness, foolishness, and flaming of their elected officials? This code should encompass everything they say and do everywhere.
John
John you don't actually read things do you?
It does encompass everything for the Senators and Cabinet, it doesnt force non-elected officals to abide by them though.
Can I suggest that if you are not prepared to read and take the time to understand the bills you are voting on that you don't vote or prehaps resign your post until you are willing to do so.
Thanks Alex, couldn't have said that better myself 😃
Awesome Article... This is great. 😃
