Cool creature of the month:African Grey Parrot

Day 2,152, 12:25 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

As far as bird species go this is the top.

An African Parrot will prefer a bigger cage so dont try and save on this.

Diet: There is several do's and don't so read up on this carefully but my 2 love naartjie slices known to you as mandarin oranges.

Captivity: A captive bird cannot re-establish itself in the wild. It will return to the person that took care of it until a predator like a cat or dog eats it. It has no defense mechanisms or instincts. Do not release a captive bird.

Learning them to talk: An african grey is the smartest bird out there not only can it learn literally thousands of words but it can also connect words with context. For example if you learn it hello and goodbye it will learn this as greeting and goodbye and after a while greet you and others in this fashion. But how: to learn a parrot they must accept you as their flockleader. Move close to their cage and from a position higher than them repeatedly say what you want them to learn. Music: stand close to their cage and whistle a few stanzas in your music piece they will quickly pick up on this: My boy parrot Oscar can whistle the following 2 tunes:

Jim Tom Rye Whiskey

Randall Wicomb - Duitswes wals

Companionship:

Preferabbly get 2 birds : male , female . And give attention to your bird. This will ensure a comparatively happy bird.
