Hello eUK!
Today's article will be my internal manifesto, my external manifesto can be found here. Unfortunately, there will be a gap in count von count tomorrow but he’ll be making a return on the 4th along with my cabinet list and summary points as well as a response to some comments on my previous manifesto.
The Vice Country President and a war update:
Personally, I like the current 2 vCP option. It allows two different people to work in the areas they are best in. I think that it has worked quite well, Madacaion has been working on updating the wiki and I hope that he continues this work into the future! I’m happy for whomever my vCPs end up as to do their own work, as long as they are working then I am happy.
In addition, part of my work as external affairs vCP I contacted the Belgian CP and vCP (who is running for eBelgium CP) and arranged a short meeting concerning a training war. They have agreed that a TW is definitely something we can do, if I am elected this war will begin on the 6th of December! I hope that some of you are happy that war is sorted for next month.
The Ministry of Legislative Affairs and The Ministry of Health:
There isn’t much that is possible to change here. In terms of the MoH, all I can say is keep on donating! Carlini has agreed to look over the finances of the MoH and produce some v nice statistics for those that donate. I reckon that anyone willing to donate food towards the NHS should be able to see exactly what their donation has done for the eUK, wouldn’t it be awesome to say that you funded the NHS for a few days?
The MoLA has little that it can do currently, it just makes sure that legislation is passed in the correct manner and that the citizenship committee is working. I’d like a the MoLA to start running a formal policy debate each week, with party representatives debating a specific topic over IRC (with addition of general questions from anyone towards the end, non-IRC goers can PM the MoLA ingame to submit their own questions) and the MoLA writing up an article with the debate logs in and each party's point of view on the subject. If we are properly discussing these topics and not just mud flinging at each other we can work towards a better eUK!
The Ministry of Education and The Ministry of Finance:
These are both ministries that have done good work this month. Carlini, as ever, has done a fantastic job as the MoF and Betafoxtrot has worked well as the MoE. One thing that does concern me about the MoF however, is that we don’t have a big variety of MoF candidates; trusted players that know their way around the financial system and are IRC active. As such Carlini has agreed with me to mentor a newer player in the ways of the MoF, with Carlini keeping the keys to the reserves and doing the monetary market work of course.
The MoE has been working hard recently but again there have been a few too little candidates, I urge anyone interested to apply! I think that the current level of work by the MoE is an acceptable amount but that more can be done to improve on it. I’d like to see some more ingame games sorted out for this role, something that BigAnt asked Talon on the podcast (don’t you just love plugs?); Madacaion has agreed to set up a Mafia/Werewolves game. Another change is that there needs to be additional advertising on the MoH to get more people on it and possibly for MUs as well (the MoD will do this in its articles as well). Getting newer players involved in MUs is a good way to increase retention, as they become involved in the MU community and start to make new friends, and this is key part of the MoEs role.
How to become a minister:
Step 1: Send me a PM with information about yourself (a brief bit on you, what ministry you want to apply for, what experience you have and how IRC active you are/willing to be)
Step 2: Wait for a reply, I’ll try and reply to most if not all of them, I may want to ask you another couple of questions or want to arrange a meeting on IRC.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Become minister.

1. Another war with Belgium would be fantastic. Helps train new playersin war properly and allows us to get a few more TP medals. Plus, there's no chance in hell we'd be beaten by the Belgiums 😛
2. I'm concerned by how large the NHS is costing us, but I suppose we could maintain current expenditure (donations permitting) if we really can't do w/o it. Cuts should be discussed, however.

I join with all brits in tipping my hat to CD for organising war. Fantastic work as I'm sure everyone will agree. Not only has he promised something, he's already delivered! So if you want war, vote CD!
4. As with BA's manifesto, more forum games and activity can only be a good thing. Simultaneously, it's nice to see you're not threatening to axe these forums and base of activities either 😛

The changed position of Belgium means it's now possible. Previously, without their consent, it would have been a proper invasion -not an agreed training war 😛.
Ofc BA can push the button, but it'd CD here that's done the diplomatic graft in allowing either of them to do it. Hats off for a manifesto already partially delivered.
Goku, I would like to say that there has been a demand for finding a war. If the position is untenable, I would personally oppose it, though it is Congress' choice, but at least he found one before his term, should he win, starts. Something no other candidate has actually done.
If you read his other article, you would know he would lay the facts to Congress and let them decide. Go figure
Well this morning several countries such as Russia and Germany where going to attack us if we had a Training War.
Now we have had a chat with Belgium and apparently the previous danger used to discredit other people's ideas has gone? Was it ever there in the first place or are you doing somehting you don't belive in because you found out that it's a vote winner?

Count Drakula changed the situation, now a TW is possible.
Actually Goku you're missing a crucual variable. It's understandable as you don't have experience at CD's level but it's an important one. All the CPs are about to change, including Russia's, in which case the threat will almost certainly be over. CD has worked hard on this one and has things set up nicely.
The previous argument was that other enemy countries would intervene in any training war to wipe us out.
How does Belgium agreeing to a training war change anything? Their consent isn' a factor because if you don't get consent it isn't a training war, it's a real one.
Does Belgium have control over Russia and Germany and pals? Or is the "changed situation" that "we want to do it now so it's ok, if you want to do it it's dangerous".

Talon Karrde when did you guys realise that there is an election on the 5th changing the CPs? Only this afternoon!?
Why were they a danger this morning but not now in the evening? That there is an election is not new information lol!
Have you spoken with the CP candidates of Russia and got any agreements with them or intel? When did you speak to them?
The situation will have changed at this point, I argued against a war at the current time. If on the sixth the position is tenable, then it has my personal support, for what it is worth.

So if the siuation is changing because of the election, why did you guys use the current siuation to discredit a new player's desire for a training war?

That article didn't consider a time component to war- current circumstances dictate we can't have war; future circumstances dictate we can. It's about long term planning Goku, hopefully you can help do some next time as opposed to encouraging new players to jump the gun.
Unfortunately Don you've done it again. Keep at it though, your example will be a great morale lift for others! If you can rule a party anyone has hope!
I think that a few of you need to man up and apologise for flaming people for wanting to do something and then doing that exact thing to get votes in an election.

Talon flaming an article on the morning of the 2nd of December for wanting a war, then supporting another article in the evening of the 2nd of December for organising a war could make sense if that war was organised a month or so in the future.
The war is organised for the 6th of December, there not enough difference between "now" and "in 4 days" to justify what you have been saying. It just looks like your saying whatever you can to discredit people even if you don't belive it.
4 days is not "long term planning" by the way.

You just twist the facts to suit whatever you want to do at the time:
Discredit New Era -> "War is selfish!".
Win an eleciton -> "War is fantastic!".
Your credibility is draining away.

I think it has been obvious what has been in the works and why the no we cant go to war we are small and scared smoke screen has been being used.

If we'd attacked someone before we'd have been counter attacked, but Count Drakula has fixed it so that they attack us instead. Another thing is that now that we are in TWO we are a less attractive target.
i hate to say it but it does look bad when you say 1 min we cant have war due to the fear of being jumped by other countries, then the next min saying that war is great and theres no fear now we will be jumped.
If it is long term planning then it should more have been said along the lines of " there are plans ahead but right now we cant act on it"
There is still a fear, but as we will not being doing the NE ourselves and now have the protection of TWO and an MPP with Brazil we are much safer than before.
What did you want them to say yeah we can have a TW next month due to our allaince plans with etc etc
You guys have played this game a long time to know how allaince making works you act like your worried your about to get invaded by any neighbours and keep the talks very hush hush.
That way you dont get spies and enemie countries trying to distrupt the talks
