Hey again (again) eUK!
It seems that some of you were disappointed with the lack of manifestos posted by me but don’t worry! Todays article will be the first of two that I publish, todays will be on the external affairs side of the eUK and the second will be on the internal affairs. I would appreciate any and all constructive criticism over what I say as I believe that we should be working together towards a better eUK!
Ministry of Defence and War:
These are two things that I know a tonne about, having served in the MoD for several months and being part of the national military command for over a year. The main two ideas for the MoD this month will be, war and sandhurst.
I know that there have been a lot of complaints about war and I honestly speaking would like a training war with another country. However, as Talon discusses in my podcast (/shameless plug), it is possible that we would be attacked on two extra sides due to this and if we were it is likely we would be wiped. As such, I don’t know if the price of war is too high. I will be referring the whole issue to congress giving them all of the relevant information that is required for a complete understanding of the situation and letting them decide if they believe that war is the correct choice (I recently did a forum poll for congress members with the result turning fairly towards one side, however as only 11 congress members have currently participated I would like to get more congress involved and see what peoples opinions are).
Moving onwards to sandhurst: this is a fairly straightforward idea, move those interested in being taught military ideas over from the Ministry of Education to the MoD. It makes the most sense as the MoE isn’t always as knowledgeable about specific military matters as the MoD is. Ideally the MoD would set a couple of assignments over the course of a month (there isn’t honestly much for people to be taught military-wise), one testing their knowledge of how to set orders and one running a strike.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Citizenship Committee:
There isn’t much to say about these two topics, the MoFA does wonderful work at present and I’d like to see that continue into the future. I believe that there needs to be a little more scope for newer players to obtain contacts in other countries so they can eventually look to become MoFA but otherwise I believe that the MoFA is working very very well.
In terms of our alliances, I’d like to continue our strong relations with Serbia, Poland, Spain and Hungary. Although I recognise that some believe we should be closer allied with the eUSA as they speak english as well, it would be a waste of many years of diplomacy to turn our back on our allies now. I’m also looking forward to working with our south american allies, Chile and more recently Brazil, as we are about to MPP them. I’d like to keep in touch with CoT in general as well.
On the other hand, talking about citizenship is like playing with fire. It is difficult to talk about this subject without knowing that I will definitely get an angrily worded PM from somebody saying what I am proposing is wrong. Personally, I believe that if we all agree to use the congress committee system (and that it remains active) that it will work. However, the top 5 parties PPs met and agreed upon a different system. I don’t want to change pointlessly if our current system does work, I propose that we have a review on the 20th of the new system and change it before the new congress is elected, if it is ineffective.
How to become a minister:
Step 1: Send me a PM with information about yourself (a brief bit on you, what ministry you want to apply for, what experience you have and how IRC active you are/willing to be)
Step 2: Wait for a reply, I’ll try and reply to most if not all of them, I may want to ask you another couple of questions or want to arrange a meeting on IRC.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Become minister.
The current positions I am looking for are:
1 x vice Country President (I plan on continuing Karrdes 2 vCP idea, however I plan on giving the 2nd vCP role to whomever is 2nd if I am elected)
2 x Minister of Defense
1 x Minister of Education
1 x Minister of Finance
1 x Minister of Health
1 x Minister of Legislative Affairs
2 x Minister of Foreign Affairs

Essentially you are going too keep things exactly the same right? You have no plans for any changes with any substance to them. Not being negative, I guess that really is your pitch to the country right?

He's already helping advance the UK, he didn't abandon his ministry post to play party politics. He also helped our CP, MoFA and Brazilian ambassador (all TUP) get the UK an MPP with the #1 ranked country in the world, something similar sized Lithuania looks like it will fail to do. This is exactly what you recommended in your article on foreign affairs! We are the best for getting the UK into a strong position for the future, you should consider backing our candidate to help your members! : )

Brazil: Average Citizen Level = 10.
You can get lv20 in about 5 minutes so that is ALOT of dead babies they have there! Most countries have Lv20 average so half their country must be dead new players! Are there any figures on what damage they do, or did we just waste some GBP?
Also I don't recall anywhere saying that we needed to ally the biggest country in the game either.
In fact world average is 28 so they could even have 2/3rd of their country being dead, depended on how good they where before their boom.
CD may very well be a good MoFA. But in my opinion he hasn't offered anything here yet that says that he will be a good CP. If you are satisfied with how the UK is doing at the moment vote CD because he isn't going to change a thing.
If you think that the UK being Rank 28 is pretty crap with similar ranks for damage done, take a look at the other candidates.

In summary:
1 - No war for another month as you fear getting wiped
2 - Redirect new players to a different Minister to educate said players on war, even though we never have a war
3 - Keep everything else the same
Do you guys sat at the top honestly not see what younger players see and say on a daily basis?
Without a home based REAL war the eUK will never progress as the game is boring, you seem like another puppet to keep the elite at the top imho, sorry!

Now thats a dig at Iain Keers if ever I saw one. Perhaps Iain left for other reasons? Either way Danie it isnt really fair to criticise Iain like that. He felt he couldnt be unbiased so did the honourable thing and resigned. Sorry that seems to be a sore point for you but at least he was open about it.
As Talon repeatedly said - We have numerous allies wanting to wipe us. How do we know a similar fiasco to CD telling Congress to NE Russia won't happen again considering he has over a years cabinet experience?
Also being level 32 and with just 24 hard worker medals (two years) for four years of playing does not look like someone wholly dedicated to the game. It has only been since he was nurtured for this CP run that he actually only began fighting in the game...tad worrying

I just worry that we cant even afford a TW at the moment due to the threat of numerous invasions and yet we could be about to get a CP who very hastily wanted to NE Russia despite his Government experience. Is Talon over playing the threat or could CD be a threat? Tough question.
I think the Sandhurst idea makes a lot of sense, and fully support it.
For the people that want war, I can only say it really is not as simple as you think, and if you persist in thinking that, perhaps you should put yourselves in a position to make it happen.
As I recall, Iain was not the only one who left government. That is a decision that had to be made an individual basis. I respect Talon for asking it, and those who were honest enough to resign because of what they had to do.
CD, you have my vote and support.
The 'attackers' choose not to read, or understand what you propose. I think this is a good build on solid policies, and the Brazil MPP was a good move.
Hey Hugh, I quit as citizenship minister at the beginning of the month, all I am is an advisor now. My contacts will probably be heavily used by whoever wins, but if you fancy steering the UK blind through international seas that's your choice.
PS. In case you didn't notice I'm not running for CP 😛
PPs. It's likely we will have a war this month, whether it's on our terms or not and how much support we get from allies depends on who is in the top seat and how good at it they are.

The reason the forum poll had a rubbish respondance rate was because IT WAS THE FORUM.
No one goes on there, do a google docs poll and publish it in an article. If it's to congress members, pm congressmen asking their opinion. If you really are interested in people's opinions, it's worth the effort.

Interesting that one didn't sign because he was running for CP and the other two are TUP members.

CD's a good candidate and this article outlines actual, reasonable and possible plans for the upcoming month.
Attacking someone because they're reasonable and not living in "dare to dream"land where CP's are meant to promise stuff that isn't possible (michaeljackson.jpg) does indeed show a difference between TUP's security options and NE's imaginationland options. NE like to misinform.
Further enhanced by the growing amount of twisty, snyde interpretations is getting quite sickening.
