So we had this Treaty with Sweden. They take some regions, they give us nothing. And should anyone attack us, it's gonna be easier blocking their traderoutes, keep some regions and/or negotiate. Also, we get friendship with IKEA, tis cool, mirite?
However, some people tend to disagree. Some don't like Sweden. Others don't like giving away regions. And there's those who simply don't like the government. And quite a few people would have liked payments from Sweden or don't see any threat of invasion from Poland or Hungary.
Well, in case you didn't realise - I don't like either of those positions. Sure, we get strategic advantages. But we don't get much more. And sure, there's no threat to us currently. But that can change any time.

However, I don't wanna talk about this. Whether you agree with the Treaty or not is irrelevant when it comes to how you deal with it. For example, there have been people fighting and tanking a lot against Sweden. But what does it get you?
Will you succeed? No; the government will eventually win damagewise. However, if you spend 5kk damage and the goverment has to spend 5kk damage to keep you down, that means there's 10kk dmg lost in battle for our allies who need help. So it gains you nothing, but it makes us lose a lot.
And, the Treaty is valid. No matter whether you agree or disagree; no matter whether you hate the guts of it. Deal with it. Because KTTRS is our elected CP, no PTOer. And the congress was elected. Therefore, they are our representatives who agreed on this Treaty. If we fail to keep it, it will be Germark that breaks a valid Treaty, and that will reflect on our diplomacy.
We are not Poland. We are not Serbia, Hungary, or the US, who can break Treaties and hope it will be forgotten on the long run because of their power and strategic value. We are small and depend on our image. If we want people to trust us, we have to keep Treaties.
Now if you really want change, so desperately that you are gonna do something about it, wait. Wait for elections. Wait for congress elections and vote for people who don't support it. Gain control of congress. Get another CP. And then break the Treaty officially, on the 7th of next month.
Until then, for the sake of reason, stop acting like children and don't waste damage that would be important on other fronts. Stop damaging our reputation and our image.
That's it.

sounds reasonable😁
Even with an elected CP, you have the democratical right to go to the streets and demonstrate. Since there are no streets in erepublic, we use the battles, as easy as that ... handel mit es
wow, this analogy doesnt work on so many levels, I'm nor even sure where to start...
1) Demonstration == Publicity
You do demos because you want agenda setting, you want to change the political discourse. In other words, you are working withing the system by hoping elected officials will adapt. The equivalent would be the press and IRC. Or Avatar actions.pressure them by writing, with words.
2) I can't think of even one similarity between ingame battles and RL demos
3) Damage. Damage. Damage. Where is it on demonstrations?
and so on
"A demonstration or street protest is action by a mass group or collection of groups of people in favor of a political or other cause; it normally consists of walking in a mass march formation and either beginning with or meeting at a designated endpoint, or rally, to hear speakers.
Actions such as blockades and sit-ins may also be referred to as demonstrations. Demonstrations can be nonviolent or violent [...], or can begin as nonviolent and turn violent dependent on circumstances" Yes, it's from wikipedia, blame me for that, but from my point of view it fits: we use the press, we use IRC, but we also use the battles!
so wikipedia says p much what I said and supports my point, making yours invalid?
or was your point, since many people do both, they are the same? Therefore, soccer games, karneval, oktoberfest, 1. mai and easter marches are all exactly the same thing?

Skalg von Tuari is right.
its ok too waste your damage in meaningless battles that are won already or sth.
but when you waste the damage of other germans by going against the government then you fight for our enemies. and what happens to ppl in RL who break official laws when "demonstrating" and do stuff for enemy countries?
writing paper here is like demonstrating in RL
fighting against official orders is like trying to bomb the HQ in mazar-e sharif because your against the war in afghanistan in RL.
if you dont support "IKEA" then fight in other battles and publish some anti-IKEA articles very other day
ich hab ferde gern

you know you can get arrested for nonviolent demonstration. and say what demonstrations involving violence are demonstration too? wow. have fun in prison.

Demonstrating is one thing. Thats showing your Opinion.
You can write articles against it, start discussions in the Board etc.
The simple fighting is different.
It's nothing else than trying to break a democratic treaty by force.
It doesn't follow anything democratic, it follows "might is right".
I don't see hundreds of eGermans trying to break the treaty, I see a few rich ones trying to do so.
Fighting against the government isn't demonstrating but high treason. Simple as that.
@Zware: I'm not rich, thats for sure... can't speak for the other, so.
@eisenmutter2: Good analogy, but there is on diffrent: in RL a actually hurt/kill real people and do real damage. In eRepublik it's just virtual damage. Of course, in the virtual world that is a militant action, but from the RL point of view, it's just a form of nonviolent demonstration.
By the way, nonviolent blockades (as most common form of civil disobidience) normally have the goal to slow down something (e.g. a train, dregder or tank) in order to show the protest. And it hurts the state, cause they have to pay the police for example. That way, you may make the government think about their actions. You don't have that chance in eRepublik. So you have to find an alternativ form. Not fighting according to the orders might be a form a protest, but it doesn't hurt the government, they don't even see it. Fighting against the orders is a form that hurts and is seen.

Very Good.
Nice article, and very good points..
In real life, people actively FIGHTING against the government are faced with charges of high treason..
Didnt read this article by now but I have to agree strongly.
also I think a demonstration is similiar to articles or shouts/rolls because they express your oppinion and may be annoying but usually they dont cause any severe damage
fighting on the battlefield on the other hand is somewhat equal do unrests and riots because you cause economical damage when the gov has to counter it. so its basically the same as breaking windows and looting. Those however can no longer be seen as expression of your oppinion. at least not by sane ppl

I just read the part with tmv but already the parable of tmv > blank space/abscence was incredibly brillant, I also see tmv here as a parable for a bundle of people, what a genius of author can just come to such extraordinary ideas?! I´m sure by reading the text I´d be overwhelmed by genuine feelings of brain glory, so I prevent doing so and say:
