All Good Things...

Day 3,684, 09:30 Published in USA USA by Pfeiffer.

Saying goodbye is not something which comes easily to me.

It's part of why, despite being long beyond my time of significant investment in this game...I remain. It's why I will be here until the lights are turned off, and the servers spin down for a final time. I started playing this game at a time when I was rudderless. My life was changing, I didn't know what it meant or what it would be (and in many ways, I still don't), and I found respite here.

Today, I come to bid farewell to the United States Workers Party.

I believe the USWP to be the most important institution in the history of this virtual country so many of us have invested years into supporting. That's why I've been putting off writing this article. I don't want this to happen. I don't want us to change into something else. The history of the USWP is deep and strong and indelible.

Alas, it appears that the time may have come. My friends tell me that this will be good for the party, and I do not feel that I have the will to go it alone again.

This will be the last USWP Congressional election. The last USWP Presidential nomination. We have already had the last USWP Party President election. While it sounds silly to say that I shed more than a few tears writing this, I did. Yet I am also honored and proud to be the one to be writing these words. If the party is going to its rest, then I shall be the one to tuck it in.

The winner of the January Party President election will announce more about what is to come, and I will quietly change the name, logo, and description of the party during the vote verification period on the 16th of January 2018.

Thank you to the thousands and thousands of people who joined our ranks over the years. Those of us who won medals and notoriety in this game through this vehicle only did so because of you. USWP led the way for nearly a decade, and I believe that our ideology will continue to do so after the coming re-branding.

The USWP has been my home and my family in more way than one for a very long time. Thank you for all you've given me, in this game and outside of it. I hope that my work on your behalf will be, in retrospect, found worthy.

I remain,

Your obedient servant,
