I fought the brits, won 2 patriot medals and a BH medal, and I fought for france against the “poles” but I’m just a newbie and for me Ireland always comes first and as long as I play this game I will always fight the brits and their allies.

If peace would cost us 1 region, there are a MYRIAD of reasons to accept that deal. Of course, 6/6 would be preferable, but 5/6 is still better than 0/6.

What do we gain by giving up all, including the nation, in order to fight the UK? Let me rephrase that. What do we get by fighting in a useless battle that we have no chance of winning?
I am all for fighting smart. We fought smart. We used timing and brains to win back our regions. We used distraction and coordination with friends and allies and we did well. We can possibly keep some of those gains if we give a little. Why lose all just to say we didn't give in.
I know some will say for Honor or the good fight. If you believe that then so be it.
To me that makes no sense.
But to each his own.
I don’t want to be offensive or rude but this is just a game and by the looks of it you have a lot to lose, I don’t know what you be losing but it seems important to you and I have to and will respect your decision.
In RL, as Citizens, WE ALL have the duty/obligation to fight ANY invader, is part of our constitution, It’s not important if you agree or not, it’s the LAW and failing to do so citizens will be seen as traitors and presented to a court martial.
That’s why I don’t understand the notion of fighting smart… must be a new way of fighting a war, either you fight to preserve the freedom of your country or not, actions are ours, consequences are not.
What do I have to lose that all of the other Irish citizens including yourself don't? I have been playing this GAME for more than four years. Do I lose sleep over a loss? No.
You don't have to tell me about RL obligations. But civilians can't be court martialed. That is reserved for soldiers.
When I say we fought smart we didn't just try to go man to man with the UK. We ( and I mean the brains in our government ) organized a plan and timetable where we divided the UK forces against us by using allies and funding RW in other places. We fought in the best places and at the best times to maximize our chances. That is fighting smart. That is how Ireland wins. Not by going man to man against an enemy with 10 or more times our strength.

But you don't just do it stupidly. Use your head and even if you do lose then you earn respect. We used our heads and won. That earned respect.

There is always a strategy in play, military or diplomatic. I wouldn't be so quick to write off government orders as bureaucracy - fighting in anything other than a solid cohort is doomed to failure, you elect a government to make sure your fights count.
What strategy?
Losing all battles during and after invasion?
Openly defending british invasion?
Supporting traitors who openly fought against Ireland and even welcoming them back to IA and letting them handle government wepps?

I NEVER gave my vote to this government and never will, the role of a government is to serve and protect their citizens and to preserve our independence but somewhere along the way our government got lost.
I have to say that you have “funny" way of making war, only if you are sure to win you will show up, but unfortunately wars are not fought that way, I think you spend a lot of time in front of your tv or playing computer games. Wars are not fight in the style of “Mum, I’m going to war but I’ll be back before breakfast”.
My fights do count, I belong to one of the best MU, if not the best, in Ireland, we are just seven patriots and we do fight against any invader regardless of nationality.
Remember that even the most powerful nations get their arses kicked.
Within game mechanisms, Alex, fights only count if you win. I'm not talking about the sentimental feelings associated with fighting for Ireland - but know there is no such thing as a honourable death in eRepublik, there is only a prolonged wiped, new citizens demoralized and die, no Dail elections and no Irish jobs.
Rl warfare has no bearing on eRepublik warfare. TWO doesn't get its arse kicked, it wins MPP battles - whilst we win RWs. If gov says don't fight in a MPP battle for Ireland or an ally, its because 1) the battle is lost and 2) by fighting in a MPP, means you can't fight in a RW either for an ally or Ireland. And we have better odds at winning RWs than most MPP battles.
Government oversaw the liberation of all Irish regions this month - because by doing so, we prolonged the life of our Shield in MPP battles and hence prolonged the war. Once that Shield goes.. either peace or a wipe. Gov hasn't lost its way, gov has kept Ireland on the map - to the dismay of authors like these whom would see individuals in government discredited even if that cost Ireland a wipe.
I DO GIVE A DAMN about Ireland and if the author of this article wants to destroy Ireland, that is his problem, I’m just a rookie but I will fight him.

In the end, Kurgan actually does more good than harm. Try to keep that in mind, and take his trolling with a grain of salt. But, do not completely ignore him, there are lessons to learn hidden in his tirades.

There is not a nation in this game that has not had a reason to fight for an enemy in a distant battle, or purposely made a lackluster defense in a home battle.
Next time you have a problem with the directions of the MoD, please mail them... or me. I'd be happy to allay your concerns and let you know why the orders are in the best interest of the nation. The article with orders usually makes the reasons obvious, but occasionally it can be confusing. I am willing to shed any light I can on the subject.
I have to thank you for your availability , no, I’m not being sarcastic and the next time that i don’t understand the directions of MoD or the Presidency I will talk to you but my MU commander is part of the congress so I will talk to him first 🙂

I also will NEVER fight for anyone against Ireland. I will fight to defend Ireland at every turn.
However, if the strategy calls for us to lose, I will not push the wall, or spend energy bars. As I mentioned above, I can make my defense "lackluster". We may be doing something like swapping initiative in a training war, which is why I did not push to win in the North Ireland fight. I can throw my food fights into a losing effort for some TP damage and I am not any less a patriot for it.

Vik, I love ya, but I'm not going to feed the troll on that one. There is no answer I can give about Conway that will satisfy you. I am convinced he will put the good of eIreland ahead of the eUK. You clearly are not, and that's okay.
Also, to answer your question, I can't speak to the gov't intentions at that time, as I have not been in charge of anything since my CP term. I've only been allowed on board a good number of administrations as an advisor. I am giving serious thought about reaching for those reigns again though.
When it comes to Ireland there is no strategies, either you fight or you don’t to preserve our freedom and independence.
I will always fight any attempt invasion and if in the process I’ll have to lose all my energy bars, food and weapons then thats what I’ll do, regardless the outcome, victory or defeat.
If being defeated shows our enemies that we are united and will resist any invasion then I will fight until I have only rocks and sticks, you on the other hand will always fight but if you know that you’ll lose in the end then you will think twice.
We have clearly different point of views, I will respect yours and hopefully you will respect mine, no hard feelings 🙂

this piece shouldnt cause trouble what it points out is that lately there has been a trend towards eColonialism in eUk . I have never taken it serious as one don't know the players involved. But their current government is geared towards eColonialism as pointed out by their CP's latest article. Also if we read between the line our government was played once they lost the first few regions so that we don't attack them and they can go on with other conquests. This is simply not a situation acceptable to me. As pointed out I want more International action against this. More a people movement that can later on change government. Our current government should take a stance whatever the consequences.
