A promise to Australia
SA Min. of Foreign Affairs
As we’re sure you’ve heard by now, Brazil’s new president has indicated Brazil wants to occupy a new region as one of his national goals, that region being Western Australia.
As we all know, for better or for worse, South Africa currently lies between the Brazilian-occupied region of Gauteng and Australia’s Western Australia. Two of South Africa’s regions border WA: KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape. Eastern Cape borders Indonesia. We currently have an open war with them, but also a non-aggression pact.
Neither of those regions borders Gauteng. And if you look here, you’ll see that South African congress has accepted a peace offer from Brazil. So there’ll be no open war, which means no foreseeable forced passage through South Africa to Australia.
A legitimate concern you may have with this situation is, “South Africa let Brazil through before, they’ll do it again!”
South Africa agreed to an anti-takeover action with Brazil, whereby Brazil would occupy three of our six regions so that we could limit congressional seats to thirty. The PTO group was fierce, made up of the infamous 4chan group and 888channers. After successfully destroying Venezuela, they’d made their presence known in South Africa and were creating hundreds of multies a day.
Only after the ATO action was in effect, the PTO group hacked into various citizen accounts, including that of the then-president. Not only her citizen account as hacked, but also her email account, South Africa’s national forums and her IRC identity. The PTO group then went on to publish gore on the national forums and publish the president’s personal contact information on various sites around the Internet with the intent to harass her.
This in no way justifies the lack of foresight South Africa had with trusting Brazil to keep to its contract and not to declare war on Australia – but in our minds it does prove just how serious the PTO group was in destroying South Africa. We firmly believe that if we hadn’t agreed to the ATO action, the channers wouldn’t have reacted so violently, thereby drawing enough attention to themselves for admins to swing the banhammer.
So our message to you now is: Australians and South Africans will always see the events leading up to the attack of Australia differently. We ask that you put those feelings behind you and accept our apologies.
Furthermore, we make a promise to you here today: South Africa will not let Brazil through our territories willingly again.
However, we will also not let Australia through our territories to get to Gauteng, an idea that’s been thrown around by a number of citizens on both sides of the border.
Why? Because South Africa would like to maintain good relations with all our neighbours: Australia, Brazil and Indonesia. We will stand by Australia in times of strife and war as part of our brotherhood in Sol, but we continue to believe in non-aggression with Brazil and Indonesia. Our negotiations have gotten us this far, violence is not in our nature and Brazil and Indonesia respect us for that – we hope you can too.
We foresee increased pressure from EDEN to let Australia through our territories, especially if your president succeeds in his goal to get Australia into EDEN. We’re not interested in joining either of the super alliances. We urge both PHOENIX and EDEN to acknowledge our decision to remain non-aggressive and to respect our sovereignty.
And if all else fails, we’re going to put up one hell of a fight.

Thanks for posting this. I'll make sure our Senate is aware of it. 🙂
Voted.
sigh i give up i hope South Africa is content in being a puppet to Phoenix
sweet as eSA - you keep the eBrazilians bottled up and I think we all should get along fine 🙂
Apology accepted - just don't make the same mistake again 🙂
Very comforting to know that you have managed to get a non-aggression pact with Indonesia.
sigh i give up i hope South Africa is content in being a puppet to Phoenix
"Because South Africa would like to maintain good relations with all our neighbours"
Pussies.
So when a country makes a decision that goes against EDEN, they are 'puppets'.
Although, that anti-PTO operation was a terrible excuse :/.
>So when a country makes a decision that goes against EDEN, they are 'puppets'.
I'd say more along the lines of making a decision that goes against your own damn alliance is what makes them a puppet
Sooo... it is okay to swap with Brazil to let Phoenix to Australia but not okay for Australia to go into Brazil?
Saying that the region swap was for an anti-PTO has to be one of the funniest lines out there. LOL.
Everything nice and neutral.
Ok so you want us to forgive you for stabbing us in the back?
*gives the middle finger salute*
This post is meaningless propaganda by someone without the intestinal fortitude to chose a team.
You cannot simply wash your hands of what you did eSA. You are responsible for eAus being invaded.
You can't play the neutral card, screw a country over, then come back with the neutral card again. Once you've abused it, you have lost your moral authority to ever use it again.
For the love of God Australia, invade these backstabbing b@s+@rds! I would gladly move to Australia and help you guys invade the crap out of South Africa. Seriously, their "neutrality" pulled out a knife and stabbed you in the back. Now, you pull out that knife, and you throw it in their eye.
Weak. Pathetic. You have to admire the gutter survival instinct of some people though, especially that of politicians.
Shoo Phoenix dog! Return to your masters heel. I do not wish to hear your whines of 'neutrality' and 'friendship.'
Yeah I don't think you're much welcomed here anymore. You let them straight through and now want an apology. The nation's opinions are mixed if Cottus Arci makes an opinion I will support his.
But still I think there has been some serious damage to our two countries relationship.
You want to be friends with Brazil after they tricked you, lied to you and attacked your friend and ally. Up until this article I never truly blamed South AFrica for Brazil invading us. Now I see that it is your gutless attempt at remaining neutral that lead to us losing WA and NT.
eSouth Africa lost all it's regions, so did eAus. South Africa is surrounded by Phoenix nations and always under threat, so is Aus. South Africa is a member of Sol, so is Aus. We have so much in common , we have the opportunity to become great friends and allies but eSouth Africa wants to throw that all away because they want to be friends with eBrazil. Yeah you guys make great allies. You won't lift a finger to help when there is any danger to yourself. The only time South Africa is willing to help us is when there is no danger to their own country. That makes you the worst kind of ally. You aren't willing to sacrifice for your friends.
eSA=New eUK.
Brazil are even such good friends to South Africa that once Brazil was worried eAus would come after their African regions they RW'd a state back to you despite the fact that you were worried about a possible PTO. Not only did they use you to get to us but they also didn't live up to their promise of holding your region protected. They RW'd it straight back because they are cowards. These are the people South Africa would choose to be friends with instead of Australia.
I hope Cottus turns up soon and names this article Bullshit.
I agree with the comments above. You cannot have it both ways and I believe you have ruined any relationship with eAus.
Have fun with the Brazilians, Judas
Is South Africa even in Sol anymore? They seem to care more about eBrazil than other Sol members.
Judging by this, Morcom wants eAus to wipe eSAfrica from the map, so that there won't be any more elections and he'll remain as President forever.
Sooo... it is okay to swap with Brazil to let Phoenix to Australia but not okay for Australia to go into Brazil? X2
Backstabbers. I think we should invade them right now 😃
Dear Aussie Friends,
The threat from the channers was real, disruptive, and damaging in real life to our president...
That said, we can agree that Brazil behaved terribly. And when they did, our armed forces deployed to Oz to help you. We were there fighting for days, funded by the eSA military budget.
Maybe our government made a bad call... I don't know. We're all under threat from Brazil and Indo, two aggressive empires. The PTO attack drove us to one of them... since then they've behaved honorably in territory returns...
You can be angry, heck, you can invade... it won't undo anything, won't help preserve either country's independence...
Neutral my ass.
I'd say your only hope is to let us through. Just like you do to Brazil you can now do for us.
Did you hear that?! PERMISSION TO INVADE!!!!
@brinn10
They behaved honourably when they retreated from KwaZulu Natal before the senate elections and left you back under threat from the very PTOers you were worried about?
I'm happy to see Aussies treating this garbage with the contempt it deserves. The key line is this:
>> We urge both PHOENIX and EDEN to acknowledge our decision to remain non-aggressive and to respect our sovereignty.
South Africa had no respect for Australia's sovereignty when Brazil wanted to wipe them out, but now they want their own respected. South Africa is foolish, cowardly, and utterly self-centered. The absolute last thing they deserve, in any form, is respect.
South Africans are hypocrites. A Majority of them supported Ines actions, they posted all over her articles with "GOOD DECISION"! Lying, pathetic, backstabbing, traitors. I hope Australia invades you, they deserve some land to make up for what you put 'em through.
Hey SA...f*** your sovereignty. You don't have sovereignty. You are a puppet
I do have to say, when I was in Peru and the channers were after Venezuela, I reported many of them for multis (obvious). The admins said there was no proof, but checking today, I see that the one's I had reported are now banned. Point is, the TO threat was very real as it was in Venezuela.
I think region swapping with Brazil was dishonourable - basically selling out another country for your own sake. But, after reading the MoFA article, I agree that its probably in our best interests to put the bad blood behind us and move onward.
ohhh... but keep a wary eye on eSA.

Besides, neutrality is boring ... grow a pair and get in the game.
EDEN rox!

Our PM is correct. eSA is NOT our enemy.
If we want to attack Brazil, we will. You are not gonna stop us.
While a low blow, eSA did not expect eBrazil to invade our land, and did what they did to save their country from a real and damaging threat. While this did result in eAus being invaded by Brazil, we must also acknowledge the context and thought pattern behind the eSA government.
It was not long ago that we were stuck in the exact same rut as a country, and to bicker and make eSA our enemy would be hypocritical. eBrazil and Phoenix are our true enemies, and eSA was unfortunately caught up in the mess.
Hopefully one day eSA can be liberated and enlightened as we were, but also we must respect individual decisions and choices their government makes.

Go here and vote it up so the entire nation of eSA can see your anger! I support any actions that will rid us of the beast caleed eBrazil whether it be in open combat or in secrecy.

^ My article on SA relations with Brazil and the necessity with an alliance with Australia, vote it up!
mmmmm ... crock of crap!
The ability to be passive during this situation ended for eSA when they allowed eBrazil to attach WA and NT. Anyone that tries to argue they were doing it just to maintain 'neutrality' and then ends their baseless rant by saying "And if all else fails, we’re going to put up one hell of a fight." just sounds like a Phoenix and eBrazil pawn to me...
you can't sit on the fence forever mate, just hope when u do fall i hope you fall to the right side 🙂
Well at least there only being a Japan and not a UK...
You can't play the neutral card, screw a country over, then come back with the neutral card again. Once you've abused it, you have lost your moral authority to ever use it again. [x4]
I knew this sounded familiar, and then I saw that Ines is the MoFA. Sorry, South Africa, you have a long way to go to restore your credibility after that backstabbing.
You're either incredibly stupid or incredibly disloyal to let Brazil through and think nothing would happen, or maybe you knew it would happen and just though it was justified in order to save South Africa.
You are now Australia's "UK" - a traitor with no access to the moral high ground or physical safeguards. I hope your next administration is less interested in trying to justify your actions, and more interested in making amends.
Not renewing an MPP with a PHOENIX member would be a good start.
End transmission.
