A Donut Update

I haven't written an article in a while and so, today, I thought I would write an update on what I've been up to since my congress and PP of IV terms ended about a month ago.

I chose not to run for the positions again for two reasons, really. Firstly I was keen to do a little more eTraveling. As some of you may know my prior trip was cut short as there was a PTO stirring at home and I came back to help block the citizens involved from running for congress. For me eTraveling is far better way to learn about alliances and the like than reading articles remotely and I've been wanting to improve my foreign affairs knowledge with a view to, at some point, volunteering as a deputy with that department and possibly (big possibly), even further down the line, running for CP. I'm well aware that the CP doesn't need to have knowledge of every ministerial area so long as they choose good ministers but for me personally, were I to run, I would want to have at least a basic functioning understanding of each department. It's not something I'm definitely going to do by any means but I have considered it from time to time and would rather be prepared than not - if nothing else I'm sure I can put any new knowledge to use for the good of the country somehow.

My trip took me to India, Canada and the US for the Lion King battle and since then I've headed to China, where I'm currently waiting to be fired so I can return home. The wages are decent in all of these countries and the battles were steady, China in particular has been flooded with them. I've certainly enjoyed my time abroad.

The other reason I didn't stand is I don't believe in hogging positions and like to give newer citizens a chance to take their turn in government and congress. I also think that if you never take at least one term off to observe it's very simple to just keep having the same conversations over and over with nothing new to add. With that said I have been considering running for MoC again as I kind of miss the job, and have mentioned to Cas I would be interested in applying should he become CP. I started to say the same to Moo in IRC today but didn't get a chance to talk to him properly yet. It would be a one-term thing for me as I know I won't be around much in later July and I don't take on roles I can't give 100% to but I would like to pay my old stomping ground a visit lol.

Whether that happens or not it's my intention, when I return, to start up making contact with new citizens again. It's something I started doing when I was only two or three weeks into the game myself and something a couple of people did for me and which I much appreciated when I was new. I'll also be contacting the MoInd to take a role with one of the state companies and Cpl Useless to be reassigned to an IDF division as, while I've been fighting under IDF orders during my entire time away, I don't actually have a CO. I'm also working on a couple of informational articles I had the idea for while I was away, like where all the Q5 hospitals are at and such lol.

So that's the update! I've enjoyed my time away but was starting to think it was time to come home anyway and I'm looking forward to getting my nose back to the grindstone, one way or another.
