WAR UPDATE
Wild Owl, Secretary of State

The pace of the world war seems to have slowed down in the e-World after Congressional Elections. Iran and Portugal both left South America after wiping out Chile's Congress successfully. Meanwhile, the Russian-Georgian war was quickly concluded with a NAP too, after Georgia's Congress was wiped. Russia spent around 664k on this war, a hefty price for wiping Georgia's Congress. USA's colonies, the United Kingdom and Indonesia, managed to get small Congresses with 20 and 10 seats respectively. It needs to be noted that the US has not spent a single CC on war in this entire month, while the Brits and the Indonesians had to spend considerably to get a Congress. Britain is still engaged in a tough battle for survival with the Swedes and currently only holds one region, Wales.

Romania's wipe of Turkey is complete, as Turkey also joined the ranks of countries without a Congress, while Serbia continues to comfortably occupy Croatia. This was also a bad month for the Hungarian colony of Spain, who did not get Congress for the first time this year. When you consider that Spain has been battling invasions since the end of last year, it's quite impressive that they have still managed to get a Congress for every month this year until now. Props to our Hungarian friends for eliminating their Congress. Newly admitted Pacifica member, Mexico, continues to rent two of its regions to Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Canada continues to host Romania and Serbia (also known as RoSe).

Ireland and Uruguay have both airstriked New Zealand, presumably with a chance to be in touching distance of South America, and both are likely to have two regions each in NZ. Uruguay is closer to our allies, sharing MPPs with Portugal, Argentina and Greece, while Ireland is backed by Bulgaria and FYROM-Republic of Macedonia. It will be interesting to see their war play out, if it happens, down there. Peru has successfully replaced Hungary in Australia and is now occupying it comfortably. Most of Pacifica continues their training wars, although Finland made a move into Norway, presumably to help Sweden out.

Month in review:

President/Dictator Orikfricai came out swinging the first week of his term by declaring the eUK a natural enemy. We rolled easily through the UK and then Indonesia in just a couple days, although we struggled to hold/re-claim them. Thanks to pushback from Congress, it was decided to discontinue the ‘battles for something to do’ and instead support our allies in the emerging World War.

Halfway through the term Day 3,223 (Sept 16), Orikfricai realized Resoula hasn’t logged on in a month and replaced her with Dinnyin as VP. Dinnyin has been in the threads about the USAF reforms for the last 8 weeks that eventually resulted in the decision to just start a new unit entirely specifically for air battles. The launch date for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) is still the 5th. CO Tyler Bubblar is building up the communes and staffing up with officers right now and should be ready to roll by Wednesday.

Secretary of Civilian Affairs, Comet Academy along with deputy Kody5 made sure The Department of Citizen Affairs was active this month, putting out 4 articles related to air battles and reviving the forgotten Bank Up 2 Strength Up program. Orikfricai plans to have The Welcome Center fully up to date in the next day or two.

The State Department was extremely effective in working with our allies and keeping the public informed via the WHPR, thanks to the hard work of Secretary of State, Wild Owl. Profiles on our friends Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Taiwan helped our new and returning players get up to speed while also strengthening our relations. Additionally they wrote a good summary of where we are with foreign affairs currently and kept the press, and therefore the public, in the loop on the emerging World War.

so srs...about teamwork!

Country Profile: Latvia
Wild Owl, Secretary of State

While the United States and Latvia only really became ally in the Sirius Era in 2014, it's fair to say that our relationship with this small country has strengthened to such a level that we can easily call them one of our best allies. The Latvians have been ever-present in our battles in increasing numbers, and have flown repeatedly for us, airstriking many of our enemies, including Bulgaria, who they drained in the last invasion of USA, before we kicked the Bulgars out. Whether it has been providing alliance-level support to each other or military damage, our countries have always been hand-in-hand and provided complete support to each other. Latvia is currently engaged in a training war with Lithuania, a country with which they share a troubled past. This war, which started as a real one, and was bitterly fought on both sides, is now a great source of True Patriot Currency for both Lithuania and Latvia. We hope that our great relations with the Latvians continue for a long time to come.

Hail USA!
Hail Latvia!
