[VP] Thoughts on allies (BRUSA day)

Day 1,917, 08:46 Published in USA USA by Jefferson Locke

My fellow Americans:

I come to you today as both your Vice President and a citizen of this great country. This is a special edition of what I have been attempting to do in the past two weeks, which is open up dialogue with the American people and work to strengthen the communication between us; This is to celebrate a holiday that we hold dear to our hearts. I’ll go into the specifics of this holiday in just a moment, but first, allow me to digress a little if I may.

This game we play encourages and demands change. We elect a new government every month, and the nature of the game calls for wars on a daily basis. The key to this game is finding a niche and sticking with it. Sometimes, you have to experiment a little (or alot) to find that niche, but once you find it, if you stick with it and work hard at it, you will succeed. The same goes in Real Life, which is why I think that this game, if played properly, can help in other areas of your life as well. The same applies to friendships in game. They often change, sometimes over small trivial things, and sometimes over blowups. This applies at both a personal and a national level. Friendships are broken (unfortunately) and new friendships are made. Such is the way of erepublik and life. However, I’m very proud of one friendship that the United States is a part of that has stood strong for a very long time, and will continue to stand and grow stronger: our friendship/bromance/deep love affair with Brazil.

Brazil is a country that has stood side by side with America through thick and thin, always willing to lend a helping hand to us. They have assisted us militarily, financially, and with ATO efforts. They are a nation of great people and great leaders that has always had our backs. And make no mistake, we will always have their back as well, in every facet of this game. Brazil is a nation that we have a deep affection for, and let it be known around the eworld that both nations destinies are tied together. Our success is their success, and vice versa; indeed, I would venture as far to say that our nations will stand together until the very end, fighting with our last breath to help our Brazillian brothers and sisters. We will never abandon them, and we will never take sides against them. Our fates are as one, for our way to the top will always include them. We simply refuse to take any course of action that would leave them behind. They are our greatest ally, but more than that, they are our family.

That is why I would ask all of you to join us in celebrating BRUSA day, a day that recognizes our INSEPARABLE bond. Today is a celebration of friendship and love. As your Vice President, it gives me great honor to announce to the world that Brazil and America will always stand side by side, hand in hand, defying anyone that would attempt to break our bonds.

Yours forever in service,
Jefferson Locke
