[The] Minister of Defense March 2011

Day 1,206, 20:37 Published in Canada Canada by Mary Chan

Dear Jacobi, officers and members of the CAF and TCO, and citizens of eCanada;

I would like to take this time right now to formally appreciate and apologize in advance.

Firstly, a rather late congratulations to Jacobi for a very successful election and thank you for giving me this opportunity to be in your Cabinet as the Minister of Defense. It is an honour to work alongside with you to serve eCanada. Throughout your term, I have no doubts you will do everything you can to keep this nation True North strong and free.
I believe I have to thank Aeriala for putting in a good word but more importantly, having confidence in me. On the other hand, I don't think he let you know about the couple things that may hinder me from being the most effective MoD you can have, and I apologize for not letting you know my downsides. I fluctuate in laziness, personal stress, moods, sleep, and I'd like to (at least) think I have a life. Which I do have a life, or perhaps, I'm merely in denial. Anyway, there are more things that make me feel inadequate to be MoD, experience being the main one. For this reason, my Deputy for this term is Jsboutin, former Minister of Defense. I don't know where to begin with this responsibility, so pretty much everything I'm expected to do, Jsboutin will be picking up my slack, and I am expecting a lot of slack... Sorry Jsboutin.

To officers and members of the CAF: I am a little overwhelmed with all the sudden responsibilities while trying my best to keep up with my own rl responsibilities. I know how understanding you guys are and how the CAF can survive without me, but I still feel the obligations to carry out what I can and apologize to you. Supply officers, thanks for covering my shifts. High Command, thanks for being there to support me. Soldiers, don't give officers a hard time, and if there are some discussions and stuff that needs to be addressed on the forums, take the initiative to bring it up to your fellow members and to your officers.

To TCO: Sorry, I'm not joining you guys. Not yet at least. Actually, I plan to retire and die in the CAF... Well, we'll see what happens; nothing is set in stone. & thanks for the halfop in #crimson. Having the ability to kick someone that pisses me off will really make me feel more sane and in control of a seemingly chaotic period in my life.

For the rest of you and to all of you, please forgive me for the following (fairly likely) possibilities:
- Being intolerant, a jerk, cranky, lazy, a b*tch, inactive (at times), inconsiderate, underqualified, pissed off, and/or purposely unavailable
- Piling my own responsibilities on others
- Wasting time (not just for you guys, but for myself also), and
- Overall, not giving you nor myself the best

If anyone has any concerns, feel free to contact me preferably through PM (in game or forums). IRC is usually when I'm on late, tired and cranky (a handful of people can testify to this).

Yours Truly & Truly yours,

Mary Chan
Minister of Defense (for March 2011),
CAF High Command,
Military Dictatorship Party Council Member
