[TCO] HUGE Giveaway - The Winners!

Day 1,341, 13:08 Published in Canada Ireland by einberliner

Firstly I'd like to say thank you to everyone who supported and participated in this event, the response has been fantastic and it took me far longer to process the answers than I'd thought it would (which is a good thing, of course).

Special thanks to Fritzhill, generous as always, who supplied most of the weaps and all of the Q5 food. Good man yourself, Fritzy o7

Some trivia before I get to the answers, which I'll get to before the winners 😉

- There were thirty entrants, far more than I've ever had for any competition I've run for TCO or when I was back in Ireland.
- Seven people who applied for the TCO-only bundle got full marks (and several of them were officers or execs). So did five who applied for the non-TCO bundle, and six who applied for the RW prize.

1 ) What color, roughly speaking, does the hex code #DC143C give you?
Crimson, of course (I accepted red/dark red though 😛)

2 ) The account of which TCO exec was created on erep on Dec 17, 2009?
Lion El'Jonson

3 ) For today's date: If it's 12 noon GMT what time is it in Dublin, Ireland? What time is it in Sofia, Bulgaria?
I admit, I originally put this in here as a trick because I was cranky at the time I thought of it. Sofia's two hours ahead of London (center of GMT), and Dublin's on the same time as London, so the answer looks like 12 noon for Dublin and 2pm for Sofia. Only London is currently on GMT+1 (Known as British Summer Time) because of daylight savings. The real answer, then, is 1pm in Dublin and 3pm in Sofia. However when I realised how cruel this question was to non-europeans and potentially for non-native English speakers I decided to accept either 12 and 2pm or 1pm and 3pm as the correct answer. Bonus kudos to those who noticed they were being played though (and there were several 😛).

4 ) Which Canadian city is located at 60° 43' 0" N / 135° 3' 0" W?
Whitehorse, Yukon

5 ) TCO Hangman! Which Australian Landmark is this: _ L _ R _ ?
Uluru (also known as Ayer's Rock)

6 ) Which country's international dialling code is +63?
The Phillipines

7 ) How many loyalty points does an energy bar cost?
30LP, though as the wiki says 35LP I accepted that answer too.

8 ) How many permenant residents does the Saskatchewan community of Old Wives have?
None, it's a ghost town

9 ) If you take the literal translation of Erythrophobia what is it the fear of? (more than one answer to this, I'm willing to be generous)
- Fear of red
- Fear of blushing
- Fear of red light (acccording to one source)
I accepted any of the above answers

10 ) If you add the number of official languages of Canada to those of Australia what is the total?
Canada has two - English and French. Australia, though English is dominant, has none. So the answer is two 😃

Now onto the winners! I'm not going to send the prizes out automatically this time, as I hate finding out I've won stuff by having a donation appear. I'll send them across as the winners step up to claim their goodies, or else send the prizes out automatically forty-eight hours from now (ish).

-The Crimson Canucks supplies all its soldiers three times a week with food and weapons automatically if you respond to a weekly roll call and work in a TCO company, there is no need for any soldier to go out of their way to request this supply. When there is a mission or important battle we also supply via IRC with additional food and weapons.

- The Crimson Canucks, and the TCO in general, welcome players of all strengths and our members comprise some of the strongest soldiers from Canada and Australia, as well as from Ireland and, increasingly, Bulgaria.

- All TCO members are treated equally and receive an equal share of the overall supply. Execs, far from getting extra supplies, often don't accept supply at all in order to increase the communal share or donate it to members in more need.

The Crimson Canucks is recruiting enthusiastic, active and dedicated players that wish to be something above the rest, something above even the best. We are a highly mobile fighting force that has spear-headed many conflicts around the globe. We bring to the battlefield a passion to see results and our enemies defeated.

When you join you will be welcomed and trained to be an elite fighting machine, it’ll take time but with dedication and perseverance your skill levels well increase and your damage output will be that much greater. Your brothers and sisters in the TCO will always be there when you need them.

The Crimson Canucks offers you a chance to enjoy this game more, to make a bigger difference not only on the battle field but in the eCanadian community, to make you known and respected as a warrior and as a patriot.
