[SLUAGH] System of Government

Day 3,279, 06:58 Published in Ireland South Africa by Dante Boss

Citizens of the Republic,

Wow it has been a long time since I have written an article and the fact that I am writing one again has really taken me by surprise. Since the introduction of the Maverick Pack, my activity dwindled and I was thrust into the sphere of two-clicking, a world where I was oblivious to international affairs and receiving a reply off me was equivalent to the comings of Jesus. Over the past few days, if not weeks I've slowly warmed my hands off the fire which eIreland has become. We as a nation are witnessing a new avenue of potential and this is one which can not be ignored. We must capitalise on recent happenings and make sure our nation holds firm, respectful and powerful.

The main purpose of this article is to provide our citizens, old and new of the systematics of our current system of governance and how eIreland is functioning in what I like to believe is a modern twist on game mechanics which many nations strategic leaders envy. I also wish to address a growing concern of mine surrounding the future of our nation.

We operate a full-on military Dictatorship (some call it the Junta). It was an idea hatched by myself as well as several eIrish citizens who had become disengaged with the constitutional, role playing platform which had developed in eIreland.

The system we sought to eradicate was a by-product of our very own creation, an eIrish Constitution, a document that sought to provide a more inclusive gaming experience for the role player as well as providing a more equal and democratic society. However as time passed the document was updated with new by-laws but as the rules grew, its influence on our society diminished. Rules were broken by all and each incident stirred tension, pointed fingers and initiated caps lock. Politics fuelled division. A moral high ground was self-claimed by my opposition and with that, fed up with our own system and those that thrived on its merit of political points - myself alongside a handful of eIrish left the country to eMexico where we were welcomed with open arms as we aided their campaign to liberate the nation.

Personally speaking, I was unhappy in Mexico, the people were cheerful and welcoming but my motivation to be a civil servant was low. I wanted to return to my true nation. Barely a month had passed when some of us who had left alongside some who remained at home began talking of creating a system of governance that would be welcoming to all citizens and provided no scope for political qualms.

We wanted a dictatorship.

After weeks of turbulent drama, the dust settled and eIreland's establishment became what we now know it as today. A triple layered establishment with each layer holding different degrees of power and influence over the functioning of the State.

The first layer is a later development which is called the "Dublin Commune". Due to game restrictions on message size, it is limited to 30 citizens Its sole purpose is to provide a platform for public discussion and debate. Any eIrish citizen is able to request membership so long as they proactively engage in debate, provide constructive feedback and do not incite political bickering. The members of the Dublin Commune do not have any form of official power in Government but instead provide feedback as well as consultation over both internal and external affairs.

The second layer is the "Executive". This is the elected Country President and their respective cabinet. They have the task of providing services to eIrish citizens as well as covering various administrative and diplomatic aspects of the game. The Executive has the potential to steer the country and must seek to provide an enriching community experience for all citizens of the nation. It is a level of Government in which players are granted the chance to learn more about the tasks involved in maintaining a functioning State whilst also giving those who are willing to provide more to their nation the acknowledgement of their contribution as well as granting them a portion of power within their field of interest.

The third layer is the "Dictatorship". This layer consists of experienced players who have served eIreland consistently throughout their time in the game. The Dictatorship privately funds the costs of the State and ensures that the Executive maintains stability and does not steer eIreland off course. This final layer has the ability to reject motions proposed by the Executive as they see fit as these proposals may appear counter-productive towards eIrelands route of prosperity. The Dictatorship level is the core component of the Governmental structure and is the most defining feature in how the State functions.

In my opinion, this system has been a great success. The nation has not been wiped or invaded for the duration of this system but instead Training Wars have been a frequent occurrence. The nation remains stable and the number of times quarrels have occurred over the Dictatorships lifetime does not even reach double digits. On the whole, the nation has been quite unified. Recent events have seen tensions flare and it is believed that there are intentions to uproot and bring this style of Governance to an end.

I ask those involved not to throw 1,000,000 IEP away for a month or two of a "free democracy". That old generic system has failed our nation in the past on countless occasions.

Look before you leap.
