Comme promis dans le programme de notre cher président, voila un premier interview, celui ci concernant TheJuliusCaesar, actuel SG de Pacifica.

1/ Premièrement, peux tu te présenter ( Dans le jeu et en vrai) ?

En dehors d'eRepublik je suis un étudiant de 20 ans d'Helsinki. J'ai rejoint erep pour la première fois fin 2011 quand j'étais un jeune et fou, déjà à l'époque les aspects de la politique étrangère m'intéressaient particulièrement. Et la Politique, définitivement la politique en général. Malheureusement le module politique est un de ceux qui ont souffert le plus au fil des ans. Comme j'ai vieilli, j'ai gagné en discipline et en compréhension de comment les choses fonctionnent et devraient fonctionner dans le jeu, ce qui m'a amené à chercher à avoir des positions plus officielles en Finlande, telles que MoFA, CP et enfin en dernier, un chef d'Alliance.

2/ Pourquoi as tu décidé de devenir SG ?

Après que notre ancien SG Nalaja ait démissionné du poste, il m'a recommandé et me désignait comme son successeur. J'avais été proche de Pacifica en tant que représentant Finnois presque depuis que la Finlande a rejoint l'alliance en Décembre 2014, donc apparemment il a été jugé que j'avais l'expérience requise pour le poste. Après avoir réfléchi un peu, j'ai accepté la nomination et ai été élu comme SG.

3/ Que sont les buts que tu avais fixé pour Pacifica ?

Le but que j'avais fixé pour Pacifica était de renforcer la position de l'alliance tout en continuant dans la voie actuelle. Au sain de l'alliance, une coopération plus rapprochée, des discussions saines et une unité générale sont toujours les bienvenues. Je crois que je suis plus apte et disponible pour évaluer ces buts et objectifs plus en détail ainsi que leur réalisation après que j'en ai fini avec le job. Croyez moi, ca me démange déjà d'écrire sur tout cela.

4/ Comment a évolué l'alliance ces derniers mois ?
5/ Comment sont les relations entre Orion et Pacifica ?

Début 2017, peu après que j'ai été choisi en tant que SG, Pacifica a eu affaire à Orion dans un conflit, comme vous le savez. Pacifica a mené une opération conjointe contre l'UK qui n’était pas encore dans Orion il y a quelques mois. Opération qui était en cours quand ces derniers ont décidé de rejoindre Orion, les entraînant dans ce conflit. Après ce conflit qui a quelques peu tendu nos relations avec les proAsteria, je suis content que nous ayons été capable de rétablir les liens qui avaient été rompus pendant le conflit, et surtout de réchauffer nos relations envers les proAsteria, pour revenir au niveau précédant le conflit.
Il serait intéressant d'entendre votre point de vue à ce sujet, car je pense que nous sommes allés de l'avant depuis ce conflit mais que bien sur plus aurait pu être fait. Certains de nos membres partages déjà des MPPs avec des membres d'Orion, c'est peut être quelque chose que nous devons regarder dans un avenir proche. En même temps je pense que nous avons été capables, dans une certaine mesure, de clarifier notre position et nos objectifs au sain de l'alliance.


6/ Peux tu décrire vos relations avec l'Estonie ?

Je suppose que tu veux parler des relations Finlandaises avec l'Estonie, car Pacifica en tant qu'Alliance n'a pas une position très claire. La Finlande et l'Estonie ont plutot été rivaux et ennemies depuis l'ajout de l'Estonie dans le jeu début 2009. Nous avons régulièrement été des cotés opposés du jeu des alliances et étions proches les uns des autres concernant les dégâts. En 2013 ou 2014, néanmoins, la population Estonienne a commencée à baisser drastiquement, au moins par rapport à la Finlande, alors la Finlande a définitivement gagné un avantage. Couplé avec les triomphes diplomatiques Finnois comparé à l'Estonie (nous avions réussi à avoir le MPP Polonais, une nation qui avait traditionnellement été le meilleur protecteur de l'Estonie), la Finlande a occupé l'Estonie pendant à peu près un an, après quoi nous avons commencé à avoir une TW unilatérale dans leurs régions.

A un moment donné nous avons commencé à leur redonner leurs revenues liés aux taxes et à leur permettre d'avoir un congrès régulièrement par bienveillance pour éviter de faire disparaître toute la communauté Estonienne. Cela a continué jusque fin 2016 quand l'Estonie a recommencé à devenir plus active diplomatiquement. Il se trouve que maintenant nous martagons même de nombreux MPPS, ce qui est étrange au regard de notre histoire. Je félicite l'Estonie pour leur diplomatie, cela nécessite des compétences pour élever un pays du rang de vassal occupé à un niveau de participants dans les affaires étrangères.

1/ Firstly, can you present yourself (IG / RL) ?

Outside of erepublik, I'm a 20 year old university student from Helsinki. I first joined erep back in late 2011 when I was young and foolish little brat, yet especially the aspects of Foreign Policy interested me already back then. And politics, definitely politics in general, too. Unfortunately, political module is one of the aspects which has suffered most setbacks along the years. As I grew older, I gained some discipline and understanding of how matters are handled and should be handled in game, which led me to seek more official positions in Finland like MoFA, president and the latest, an alliance leader.

2/ Why did you decide to take the SG's position ?

After our former Secretary General Nalaja resigned from the position, he recommended and nominated me as his successor. I had been around in Pacifica as a Finnish representative pretty much since Finland joined the alliance in December 2014, so apparently it was deemed that I had the experience for the position. After pondering for a bit, I accepted the nomination and was voted for SG.

3/ What are the goals you set for Pacifica ?

The goal I set for Pacifica was to strengthen the position of the alliance and continue in the current path of ours. Within the alliance, tighter cooperation, healthy discussion and a general unity are always welcomed. I believe I'm more able and free to assess such goals and objectives more in detail and their fulfillment some time after I'm done with the job. Believe me, I'm already itching to be able to write about everything

4/ How the alliance evolved in the last months?
5/ How are relationships between Orion and Pacifica ?

During the early 2017, shortly after I was chosen to the SG position, Pacifica found itself from an escalated conflict with Orion, as you well know. Pacifica had proceeded with a joint operation against then officially non-aligned UK few months back and was in the middle of it when they decided to join Orion, dragging them into the conflict. After the conflict, which somewhat strained our relations with the proAsteria, I am content that we have since somewhat been able to re-establish the ties that were severed during the conflict and, in overall, warm the relations towards proAsteria near to the level preceding the conflict. It would be interesting to hear your assessment about this, too, as I feel we have gone forwards since the escalation but more could of course be done. Certain of our members already share extensively MPP's with Orion members, perhaps this is something we can look more at in near future. At the same time I believe we have been able, to an extent, clear our position and objectives internally within the alliance too.

6/ Can you describe your relationship with Estonia ?

I assume you mean the Finnish relationship with Estonia, as Pacifcia as an alliance doesn't have a too well articulated stance. Finland and Estonia have been rivals and enemies pretty much since the inception of Estonia to the game in early 2009. We found ourselves regularly on the opposite sides of the alliance spectrum and were close each others when it comes to damage output. In 2013 or 2014, however, Estonian population started to drop drastically, at least relative to Finland, and Finland gained decisively an upper hand. Coupled with Finnish diplomatic triumph compared to Estonia (we managed to get the Polish MPP, a nation which had traditionally been the main backer of Estonia), Finland wiped Estonia for a year or so, after which we started having a unilater TW in their region.

At some point we started to give them back their tax income and granted them a congress regularly out of benevolence and not wishing to completely wipe out the Estonian community. This continued until the late 2016, when Estonia started to become more diplomatically active again. Now we even find ourselves sharing a lot of common MPP's, which feels strange when looking at our history. It is in order to congratulate Estonia for their diplomacy, it takes skills to elevate a country from an annexed vassal to a player in Foreign affairs.
