I'm personally an egalitarian, and probably would be classed as a classical liberal or possibly civil libertarian - a proponent of free speech, opposed to mass surveillance, large government or pretty much anything that authoritarian regimes such as could be found in Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia.

Secondly, Wormwood's original, from which the aforementioned cartoon is derived, is an observation on an attack by Antifa protesters on a disabled, wheelchair bound veteran.

As for the idea of keeping surplus labor, ha! The solution any manager can attest to, is that if there is surplus, the quota is too low. There have been lots of horrendous acts carried out by humans on other humans. Some of them have been done by Communists, some by Nazis, some in the name of Christianity, some in the name of Islam. Some in the name of the British Empire. If you can think of an ideal, someone will come along and use it as a reason to be shitty to someone else. That doesn't mean the ideal is bad.

Yes of course, but, points that everyone can readily agree with make rhetoric not an argument. We also have trouble with the murder who kills a single person or the criminal who attempts to. My point is that it's insane we have a world where people react in the extreme to Nazi Germany (which did accomplish a number of objectives) Vs Communism (which has consistently failed). My annoyance here is the idea of the Che Guevara T-Shirt, the hammer and sickle as an icon of empowerment, whilst forgetting 14 Million Vs 94 Million. Every death counts, but I'm going to be far out and say the extra 80 million should make people more upset. So yes, the idea is bad, it's very very bad.

I have a rule about not discussing religion or politics on the internet. I disagree with a lot of your opinions, but I respect your right to hold them. Defending Hitler because "at least he picked a specific race to persecute", or because he "only" killed 14 million and did a good job of rebuilding Germany's economy (which he then used to produce bombs he could drop on the British civilian population)...that I can't respect. It's pretty clear at this point though that you're not going to let go of your belief that "Nazis aren't so bad because communism" so I'm going to leave it there.

It's not about who was worse. As you right state Jim, humans have dine terrible things to each other throughout the ages and will continue to do so. What people like me have an issue with is the pedestal that Communism is placed upon. Society rightly lambast Nazis, yet commies are considered cool and edgey. To me and I assume others, any totalitarian regime is considered bad and not what we require in this world.
