A few days ago I told you I was running for President, and I outlined broadly my vision.

Since then I've been planning and putting together a coalition of people I want to work with to make July the best month possible. I've also been humbled by the support I've received by friends new and old alike. This game is nothing if not the collection of characters and institutions we've created together, and to see them mobilize is nothing if not awe-inspiring.

I said that this was going to take all of us, and I've never been more optimistic that that's possible.




PROTEUS4POTEUS: A Little Help from my Friends

Since I've announced I've received several endorsements.



First the Federalist Party has once again lent me their support. For the past ten years, the Federalist Party has been my family and the reason I've stayed in this game. Serving that party has dominated my efforts and emotions and knowing I have their faith and support is meaningful beyond words.

I have also been endorsed by The United States Workers Party, The Socialist Freedom Party (though not in game), and the Rough Riders.

The Socialist Freedom Party has always represented a fierce policy driven and idiosyncratic approach that has always made this game and country stronger. In the past 10 years, I have both been aligned with and in opposition to the SFP, but I have always been thankful for their voice. Aside from my home party, nothing was more gratifying than the endorsement they gave me. Like PQ eloquently put it, eRepublik is ice cream, our role is to enjoy it before it melts.

The United States Workers party has been an institution since before I can remember, and I will never be anything but grateful for their support.

And of course, the Rough Riders represent something I admire greatly, the attempt to build and create new paradigms in the face of stagnancy. I have spoken with Stormin and will do my best to not let them down.

Still, the reason I'm writing you now is not to inform you of those who have supported me in writing, but rather to tell you who I will be leaning on this coming month and helping me achieve everything I want done.



PROTEUS4POTEUS: Cabinetry



Running for president is, as much as anything, running for chief delegator. The country is a highly oiled machine, and I'm volunteering my time, my passion, and my ideas, but the way this month plays out will depend more on my team than on just myself. And to that end, I believe I've put together an extremely capable team that will help make this month one to remember.

Additionally, I've said that this month will take everyone. Here are my secretaries, here are my ministers, who will help guide the country forward. But in order for media to thrive, we can't just rely on a Media Director, we all need to be writing.

So to sink to the level of Time Magazine's comically bad 2006 person of the year, the most important member of my team is you:

I will do everything I can this month, in turn, I expect you to as well. This country is all of us, let's make it special.

The Executive

CP: Paul Proteus

If you'll have me~

VP: Arrden

Arrden and I have rarely been on the same side, but I have always respected his dedication and principles, and he has always been willing to hear me out and take me seriously no matter our respective positions. Arrden is a serious person who takes this game seriously, and cares about our country and community more than anyone I have met here, and is always willing to find middle ground, yet never compromise what matters. That we come from different perspectives is exactly why I want him on my team. I have goals for this month, and I have a vision for this country, but that vision is limited to my play-style and my history, and I am under no delusion that my vision for this country is complete, and I suspect Arrden will be the first to tell me where I'm wrong. Additionally, I'd like to see him run soon. I'm beyond lucky to have him on this ticket.

CoS: Kody


I've said it before but Chief of Staff is the most important position in the cabinet. I'm running for President because I want to make this community shine again, but also because Kody promised he'd be there and make sure I didn't fail. It's been a long time since I was last in the Oval Office, but nobody knows it better than Kody does, and I am being very literal when I say I now have Kody on speed dial. Presidencies succeed and fail based on the Chief of Staff, so I am incredibly fortunate to be running for President with Kody at my side.

Secretary of Defense: Thee Dude


It's no secret that Defense has never been my strong point. I've been building up to this month by being handheld by Kody, Voots, TheeDude and more to make sure I can hit the ground running. To that end, I'm incredibly thankful TheeDude has agreed to remain in this position. I've worked with him when he was President, and in other capacities, and what I can say is this: he knows what he's doing, he's exactly who I want, and he is an incredibly gracious and nice guy.

Deputy SecDef: Harvey Specter

Additionally, I am very excited to have Harvey working in a deputy capacity and getting to know the ropes as well. We have a really great and competent group, and I want to broaden it. When I'm out of office, I want more people ready to throw their hats in the ring with confidence and support and provide competitive elections again. Harvey since coming back has been active and everywhere reforming our congressional code away from the forum, and even stealing my Fed political director job for a month. I'm excited to utilize him to make me look good in this context as well.

Secretary of State: Herr Vootsman


Honestly at this point Voots is a load-bearing column for the eUS. Without him, I don't know how we would function. Voots both runs this country and also helps the rest of us run it too. I would certainly be lost without him, and it goes without saying that I am glad he's agreed to continue in this role for my term, and beyond that, I'm grateful for his generosity with his time aiding me in preparing this campaign. Voots is Voots, and our foreign policy has never been in better hands.

Deputy SecState: Marine Le Pen10

Another active player who is new to me but certainly not new to the international scene whom I am looking forward to working with.

Secretary of Media: Pfenix Quinn


To me, this is maybe the most important role in government. Sure, it's great for the eUS to actually be run well, but all of that is greatly diminished if it's not communicated to the citizens. I've been Secretary of Media dozens of times, and writing has been the most meaningful aspect of this game to me personally.

To that end I want one of the best writers we've ever had as Sec Med, and because I am stupidly lucky, I got that.

PQ has been revolutionary these past few months under Kody expanding Media beyond just the WHPR, and he will continue to do that in my administration, but he's also going to keep on keeping on with frequent and quality White House Press Reports. Thank you PQ for staying on with me, from me, and from everyone who likes media as well.

Secretary of Interior: Tito Magnus


Two of my primary goals for this term and engaging new blood and building up domestic programs that are useful, visible, and meaningful. To that end, I could not choose a better Secretary of the Interior than Tito Magnus.

Since I've started playing with him, he has rocketed through the Federalists leadership structure (in spite of our general paranoid reluctance to let new people near any of the buttons) and become PP, in addition to embedding himself in Kody's executive. He's active, he knows what he's doing, and he's motivated. More than almost anyone on this list, I look forward to working with Tito and finding out exactly what he's capable of.

eNPR Host: Derphoof


Media is more than just articles, and eRepublik is more than just pixels. I take the community we make as seriously as anything else, it certainly lasts longer. Derphoof and I have done radio before, Derphoof and I have done voice congress. And if I'm President, we'll do radio even better. Derp is on board, and I couldn't be more psyched. To paraphrase the new Cronenberg movie, radio is the new sex, and Derp and I are going to do it on air.

God King of Fun: Harvey Specter


This position has been held by Emerick, Sam Wystan, myself, maybe someone else.

The point is we're going to spend a lot of time on domestic programs that help retain players. But we're also going to spend time putting together events that are just fun.

It's a game, and Harvey's going to help me make sure we remember that all month.
