[CPF] A new face for a new age!

Salutations and greetings!

As you may know, on the 15th of March we have party presidential elections. I am Dozzer_x, and I will stand for this month’s election as party president of the Canadian Progressive Front.

Who I am?

I am indeed a new face on the Canadian political sphere, but this nevertheless shall not discourage you from voting for me on the fifteenth. I’ve came in Canada at the beginning of September 2012 as a relatively unknown person that has had no contact with anyone from contemporary eCanada whatsoever. But, as the time passed, I’ve involved myself in the proceedings of the Canadian Progressive Front, and I gradually evolved to being put on the party’s list for the November 2012 election. The election got the Canadian Progressive Front the biggest number of votes and thus I’ve became myself a member of the Congress of Canada. Since then, I’ve continuously served as a congressman, proudly representing the CPF and defending its tenets, until Canada got wiped by Spain and we were left without a Congress.

Meanwhile, I was co-opted in the Cabinet of Venoms (CoIoneI Sanders) and then that of Rolo Tahmasee as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. As dMoFA, I’ve tried to do my best in keeping Canada diplomatically connected to the other countries of the e-World, and nevertheless, with the rest of Cabinet we’ve tried to repair the mess Rylde left (one of the reasons for which I strongly believe that if a person doesn’t know how to be diplomatic, they shouldn’t even try to pursue a career in politics). My efforts haven’t been ignored, and I became Minister of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of Homer J Simpson, and along with Michael 23, we’re the only CPF representatives in the Cabinet.

Political platform for CPF presidency

Every single action of my eventual presidency will focus on an effort to actively maintain and respect the Seven Tenets of the Canadian Progressive Front. It is obvious that it is of uttermost importance for our party to respect the set of laws that simply defined the existence of the Front.

First of all, it is obvious that our party, despite being the biggest in Canada, has some problems with involved membership - the turnout at the latest primaries was 29%, and the turnout at the latest party presidential election was a little over 50%. These low turnouts do not put our party in a good light, not at all. That’s why it will be my main goal this month to get most of the party members actively involved in the proceedings of the party. I have no interest in gaining new members that would only make our party membership rate higher, but wouldn’t be involved at all - I’d prefer a party with 120 people out of whom at least 90 are actively involved rather than a party with 160 members out of whom less than 60 are involved. I will gladly work with any new member that wishes to be involved with the CPF, and I will try to get some active members of our community to join the CPF as well.

And now, the relationship with other parties. It shall be noted that as a party president it is my duty to keep the interests of the party above everything else except, of course, the common interest of the Canadian nation. Thus, the Canadian Progressive Front, if it will be under my leadership, will develop a positive relationship with any other party that has a goal of keeping the interests of Canada above everything else. I will, of course, defend the Tenets of our Party in front of the threats from outside. Whoever will respect the Tenets of the CPF, will have our respect as well.

Another important thing is the internal party communication. I will say from the beginning that the Moose calls will be kept but we also have to face the present truth: in the last months, the Calls have barely been used by the party members, and the levels of communication within the party have largely decreased. This is why I find it necessary that our party should organise a census of active membership to see who is still around with us. Any CPF member who will pledge loyalty to the CPF in the next month shall strive to get more involved in the proceedings. After the census will be done, the Moose Calls will be rearranged accordingly, and the active members will be in two Moose Calls instead of one, to get everyone in our party involved in more than one “sub-community” of our party. I will nevertheless also stress the need to get the party membership involved on the forums and on the IRC chatroom - and we seriously lack at this one. Thus, the IRC meeting established by Funky would continue in my term.

The Congress and Presidential elections are probably the main thing a party should focus on. In regard to this, I must put stress on the 4th Tenet of the Party: game mechanics are more important than anything else. Thus, it’s ultimately the duty of the Party President to decide the Congress party list and the Presidential nominee. Per this, the Congress selection will be modeled on the last month’s one: Funky’s way of dealing with Congress nominees was very good, and it does not need any revision at all. That being said, I also expect fellow Congress nominees to be actively involved in the Party and actively state their views in the Moose Calls if they intend on running for Congress.

In regards to the Presidential nomination, things will be a bit changed from what you have seen until now: it is of uttermost importance that our party nominate a CPF member for the Presidential election. I am sure that the CPF has CP material, and it has a lot of that. There must be just the person to have the courage to go further and state their candidacy. The Presidential primaries will also change. It has been proven that our current system of election does not work, and thus this month we should adopt the preferential system. This basically means that from now on, members will not choose only one candidate to be the Presidential nominee, but will rank the candidates in the order the member prefers. This way, we can ensure a much more equitable way of having a Presidential nominee, one that can assure a general consensus among the party. More details on this will come if I win the election. I must also say that I reserve my right not to put on the ballot any Presidential candidate of other parties that is opposed to the Seven Tenets of the CPF. We must stress the fact that we have to put OUR OWN party above other parties, and always follow OUR OWN party’s interests (along of course with Canada’s common interests).

Seven Tenets of the Canadian Progressive Front:
1. Uphold the equality of all active Military Units
2. Make the accounting of government funding more open and important
3. Ensure Canada is a reliable and selfless ally
4. To respect, recognize and uphold the supremacy of the mechanics of the game
5. Develop a positive political sphere
6. Bring in Canadians to eRepublik
7. To encourage growth and stability to the eCanadian economy

I am Dozzer_X and I approve this message.
