ElGorro

A salute to all Dutch soldiers! o7
This edition of the MU Tournament was more exiting than the previous one. The numbers one and two were switching multiple times a day. It was thrilling till the end!
All the winners, congratulations!
With best regards,

great work guys! we couldn't challenge for the top 50 place worldwide but we did a whole lot of damage regardless.
al of our mu's together wouldn't even get us in the top 100 😉

Congrats to the victors.
In fact we all lost in this tourny. Instead of joining forces for the time being so everybody could profit from the rewards we wasted loads of damage and bombs (that were meant for pink) to keep the rewards out of the hands of the other half of the eDutch fighters. I blame our leadership for gross shortsightedness.
but hey, o7.
We are right were we belong. Nowhere.
Good point, but you've got only your self to blame. Toute nation a le gouvernement qu'elle mérite.
you have a good point there, apart from the word 'only'.

agreed, i pointed that out multiple times, but people desperately wanted to win.
Its a pity only few people here see that we are being trapped in a prisoners dilemma, laid out for us by erep, and we fall for it.
Merging the privately owned Praetorian Guard and the governmental eNL Navy will never happen. Why do you insist on blaming "our leadership" for the impossible?
Because I want to bet that our leadership did not attempt to cooperate together in this to achieve the maximum result for our eNation.
you could have convinced the members of PG to join the official dutch MU's.
its not my role to poach individual members away from one MU or the other. Also, im relatively new, am poor and weak and my only weapon in this matter is my pen.
I would like to point out however, that when i published http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/mijmeringen-van-een-strateeg-unity--2294821/1/20 not so long ago, you were one of the people that dit NOT agree.
In fact, it was ElGorro who made the correct analysis there, that its about ego's. And im still convinced that we are operating way below our nations already limited potential.
In fact celebrating a win for one MU or the other, we should be mourning the loss for our nation. And learn from this for the next time.
Thats exact the reason why it never will work.
We will have a system with multiple MU's. Now 9 MUs, maybe next month 5 or 15. Who knows. That's the game. We cannot control it.
It's a MU Competition, a competition between MU's. So I think mourning is an overreaction on the loss of PG. This article was to honor every soldier, also the ones of PG, for an exiting tournament.
Dear EG, i was already mourning the loss of the Navy this morning before I found out that they in fact won. I mourn for the loss for our society, not for PG.
The MU competition is a new thing (if im not mistaken) We should adapt to these new circumstances, or suffer great losses relative to our potential, in the coming months.
I'm not saying it's your role. but if you believe this was a waste because we are divided in mu's you could at least make the start. and yes this is a relative new thing. and in my opinion a good thing spicing things up in the mu's
Well, I don't mind some competition in the game. If everyone gets the same without any effort, the game would be more boring than it allready is.
Its just like the missions. Would je mourn as 50% of the people is not completing their missions?
Let's not forget: This is a game.
@Odan: i believe i made the start by shouting in the PG feed that we should not waste damage on the competition. And by writing what I wrote.
@EG: I believe we should make sure we ALL get more EB's and zooka's so more people can complete the missions so we get stronger to fight PINK. Look at all the damage we wasted in this brotherly fighting. This damage should be aimed at Pink when we reclaim our regions. You said the negotiations failed, thats leaves only one option: to fight!.
But we are not fighting Pink, we fighting eachother. Competition is good, if it makes us stronger. Not if it makes us weaker. Erep is playing US and we fall for it. Thats worth thinking about it.
walhalla. i can't see that feed 😉. altough you made a statement here, it's a little late. if you had done that at the start of the competition it might have done something.
Think you have to read my article on that again.
@Odan: You cant see that feed. Thats true. But hey, thats what I wrote about on day 2071. Aint that a coincidence? The tourny was announced on day 2072. So, not 'a little late' at all, I'd say perfectly timed. Just not heard by some people.
With the result that we now have tons less bombs and eb's than we should have to fight pink.

Hail eNL Navy! o7
It has been an exiting battle, especially last night. I spent some time on IRC to try and sell some big bomb damage from some fellow PG's, and i got to say we made some really nice profit 🙂 And in the end it was just not enough, so congratulations to eNL Navy!
What i do find sad though is the fact that our CP is using the official channels to pat himself on the back for an achievement that is not related to his function. I guess that are just the spoils of being in charge.
No, this article is for every soldier who participated in the tournament. It was exiting.
It's like: "wij van wc-eend..."
Even though we used quite a lot of damage which we maybe Savin up against Poland we have Allies which need aid defending their regions or liberating regions from occupiers.
However I used this MU Tournament to help my MU win but more importantly helping our allies from Asgard defending Gotland, fully recapturing Finland's regions from TWO and recapturing regions from Ukraine for Russia.
A few comments;
I don't know how it was in PG, but within Navy the bombs thrown were mostly bombs that would expire soon. That's what was communicated within the Navy feed as well; Use expiring bombs, safe the rest as 14 extra EB's do less damage then ONE BB for most. Letting them go to waste by expiring however would be a, well, waste. I for sure hope the impressive hitting from Yfke this night that did put PG in front for a while was also with soon expiring bombs. The small bombs she has (or is it had now) expire most likely in 3 weeks so are most likely saved. If the used bombs were not expiring soon she at least made a nice gold profit with it and got well paid so to say. A lot more then when used for a TP medal. That's the huge advantage for her being D3 still. In D4 she most likely would have managed to score max 2 with the around 90 mil she did last night.
A few bombs within Navy were sold as a good price was paid.
Apart from our own RW I haven't seen people use EB's. At least not a lot. I for example did use a few but no more then I normally would have and got plenty left. That we as Navy do a lot of damage quite easy (relatively speaking in the eWorld that is) is caused by the fact our players are on average stronger and thus do more damage plus the fact the percentage of active players in Navy was higher and a few use smarter fighting methods in inflicting damage.
Putting all our nations MU's together would still not let us get close to a top 50 position. We simply lack numbers of players which is the main reason we are occupied in the first place and stay that (not to mention our oil). Being one MU would have one advantage; Without fighting beyond twice the DO we would all gain max14 extra EB's. But then we wouldn't have the fun we had now. It's more or less like a training war and one of the only possibilities for us to fight without it being a lost cause on beforehand. I sure hope the next MU challenge will be as exciting as this one.
True words.
The thing is that we dont have a long term plan. Those 14 extra EB's and 14 extra bazooka's are for most players a big leap towards the next missions if they come. Those Missions will potentially bring Strenght and Bombs for those that get far. I wonder how many people completed the last missions? Its that number we should increase. The more big bombs on stock the better our next RW.
Thats my whole point. Im not against competition. Im against us ruining our chances, and then complaining that we dont stand a chance. Yes, thats cause and effect.
Partly true; There are however long term plans on the departments of Finance and MoFa. Just like about how we could get a few regions back (midlong term) and getting them all back (long term). What is lacking is a clear direction on MoD that is struggling for almost ¾ of a year now. If they would start with the very simple basics and needs we could build something, but the opposite is done. That's what caused (part of) the recent growth of PG. My view on MoD could be known by now as I published it briefly on forum.
Partly true. I believe there are only long term plans for Finance. Last term i was part of MoFA and however we were very active and had a great time with a fantastic team and some successes, it was hardly part of a long term plan.
PG grew the way it did back then trough a more human approach towards the newbeis. They didn't get shouted to, but were treated as humans and equals, that's what appealed to them. 😉 And don't forget our sexy avatars and good management, questions that get answered pronto, and the comaradery in general. 🙂
true Alex. That was the main problem with eNL Army; The commander shouted at new players and even threatened them while not knowing himself how to arrange things or even set orders and also not being active due to which there were no or strange DO's. If people asked things about that he always blamed others. Once he was replaced that became solved by two new commanders but at the moment they had it solved and had it the most active MU, MOD destroyed that and the MU, just like Airforce was to a somewhat lesser extent. But I already explained that on forum.
And indeed the organisation at PG is in order. Something MoD should have done for state MU's as well. That wasn't and still isn't so people left towards PG. Not to mention the active recruiting and the privately funded resources that were, and partly still are, in place.
Walhalla, the MoFa part isn't fit for posting here but there is. Only problem is it's long term work while we have no stability in people that work on it but despite that the work continues albeit at a lesser extent atm.
Congratz eNL Navy! You won fair and square 🙂
There is nothing wrong with some competition here and there.
