[CP]America! To Arms!

Day 4,689, 03:58 Published in USA USA by VoxHumana

Citizens of eUSA,

Greetings to you, and salutations from the Office of the President.

Make no mistake. We have brought war upon ourselves by our own actions. We aimed ourselves toward this precise moment and the moment has now arrived.

We go to war.

When eUSA signed the Non Aggression Pact with Asteria on May 22, 2020, we and CODE had already lost our war against Asteria. Most of our regions were being occupied in a hostile way, and neither our government nor our alliance had any hope of preventing us from a long-term wipe.

The NAP was a victory.

The NAP established peaceful and prosperous terms with Asteria which enabled us to take better advantage of Plato’s Hot Summer Event than most other nations in the game. It also necessitated our coordinated functioning with Asteria and others in her sphere, an ongoing situation which has earned us respect among our former enemies.

Where military victory was impossible, diplomacy won the day. Here is that document.

When we agreed to participate in Asterian operations outside of eUSA’s core regions, we did so knowing full well that we were in the beginnings of a shift in Foreign Policy that would one day bring war upon us from our former allies. There were a few members in Congress who opposed our cooperation with Asteria, and the impending invasion was one of the consequences they noted. Everyone knew they were right about that. Now that invasion is coming.

The reason I, my administration, and a strong multi-partisan majority in Congress approved our participation in Asterian operations had nothing to do with avoiding this invasion. Most people who play this game actually desire meaningful battles to wage, and we now have just that! No, the reason we chose Asteria as a beacon for our Foreign Policy is because when we do go to war in this game, we wish to do so alongside nations which will fight together.

As a reminder of why we found ourselves in the situation of leaving one alliance in pursuit of another, I quote President Bubblar from his article published on Day 4,556:

“I will be blunt: there is not a military solution to this situation. Our Alliance CODE is boycotting packs for this month and have instructed the CPs of its member nations to spend this month focusing on the community.”
- President Tyler Bubblar, source

I will also tell you that his measured public tone bears no resemblance to the fierce anger that was expressed by the entire executive administration upon learning that our “allies”, in response to eUSA being attacked, advised one another to focus on bread and circuses. That was the moment relations between CODE and eUSA were broken.

We were in an alliance with nations that would not fight alongside us in our hour of deepest need. As your CP, I have labored to make sure that will not happen again.

This is war.

This is a war we have expected.

And now we will see how Asteria honors its word and commitments. Remember, they bound themselves to treat any act of aggression against our cores as an act of aggression against Asteria as well. From the NAP, I quote:

Under the terms of this agreement, in case of an action targeting the USA core regions that wasn't previously approved, all parties must consider it as an act of aggression.
- Source

I am delighted to inform you that Asteria needed no reminder. Before I saw the alerts ingame, I had already received a message from Asteria HQ with initial details of their defensive response to this invasion. I look forward to fighting these battles together with you, the citizen soldiers of eUSA, and alongside Asteria and those who cooperate in her sphere.

During the coming days, some of us will encounter circumstances that prevent us from working in our factories. We cannot hope to win every battle, and some regions may perhaps need to be lost intentionally. It is my hope that our Training Wars have, quite literally, trained us all to check battle orders before fighting.

Every kill and every domination point is important.

I will be calling on the other public servants in Government to assist in keeping the lines of communication open. I want it to be as easy as possible for you to know where to direct your damage, and when. So watch your media channels for information.

Hopefully our Training Wars have enabled you to increase your coffers with resources. Now is the time to spend those resources in defense of our nation as it is attacked by the very alliance which abandoned us just 5 months ago.

Finally a word to those citizens of eUSA who oppose our current State Department and Foreign Policy. I ask you to fight first, argue later. Let’s win. Then let’s resume our debate. Show us, by your damage, that you care as much about eUSA as I do. Come to arms alongside those with whom you disagree. Do not withhold your damage for personal reasons; we have seen the ugly results of such selfish behavior in the past. Fight! Win!

America, To Arms!
