Dear citizens of the eNetherlands and others readers,

I write you to update on the recent happenings in our eCountry. While we as a country are not involved into actual wars, our fellow eCuba ally was attack without provocation by eVenezuela. I'm happy to see that us eDutchies stood up together with Orion to defend our ally. While the first battle may have been lost by Orion, currently it's looking like we're having the longest breath and will manage to kick out eVenezuela soon. I saw many of our fighers active on the battlefield, Weekstrom, Gwom, eRepTrader, Zelig, Chean and many more. Our presence is certainly promising for the future! Our presence was certainly felt!

While the results of the recent war in eCuba are promising, there are also the results to be worried about. As can be seen in this short analysis Orion lacks severely in D1/D2/D3 power. This certainly goes for the eNetherlands as well. We can depend on Weekstrom and the occasional old D4 player with bars, but the lower divisions hold up their firepower due to XP. I intend to rectificate that by innovating our supply system so those lower division players can buy packs (especially the IK one) but it's clear there's a long road ahead of us.

This ties up nicely with the recent DAF survey I held recently. So far I received 9 responses. With our decreasing numbers I believe that gives a pretty good and representative view of matters. The survey dealt with differing issues within DAF. Firstly it dealt with the question of the functioning of the current commander:





DAF is in general not very positive about the current commander Odan, while they are positive about long-time proposed replacement Shawtyl0w. However, I do not intend to start a witch-hunt as I believe Odan is, despite all of the opinions about him, still one of the most active members of the eNL community. Most respondents praised his efforts to inform our nation about coming RWs and the likes, together with the command team (Weekstrom as 2nd commander and Shawtyl0w). Therefore I propose we find a gentelemen's agreements in which Shawtyl0w gets in-game command of the Dutch Armed Forces but Odan still stays involved in the command team. In my opinion there's no need for yet another tired forum debate that splits our nation in different factions.

Except for this question we also dealt with other questions, mostly concerning the amount of information and support to soldiers DAF supplies:






There are some clear conclusions to be drawn. Our soldiers still desire a supply system. Currently we're discussing with our Commune Holders Heikanu & Dave Brinkman about the viability to restart their companies. My Minister of Defense Shawtyl0w has already gathered some weapons from them which will serve as supply for campaigns (like the eCuba campaign) until we have found a more lasting solution. Considering there's still a need/wish for supplies it's of utmost importance that we provide them.

Soldiers are in general happy about the way DAF communicates about certain opportunities, like when a Resistance War starts or when one should upgrade his Training Ground. I myself can confirm that the Command Team of DAF is really out there to point our soldiers to their Resistance Medals or in general to opportunities to improve themselves in-game. However, soldiers notice they don't really know who to fight for, except for their Daily Order. This can be blamed on both DAF, but also the Governments of the eNetherlands. There needs to be renewed efforts about our foreign allegiances so that people know whose side we exactly are on.

These results give me hope to work with others to improve our nation, especially our military power. There is much to be gained and should be gained, as we're under severe threat if we don't. I hope improving the Dutch Armed Forces is the first step in properly utilizing our small numbers. I urge you all to step up as well and help your fellow countrymen in defending our country and their allies. With our low population every number counts!
