[CABINET] A Statement from your Gov'na: Oxygen

Day 2,161, 20:43 Published in Japan Japan by ahava3233

Hi all, it's your Governor/MoF, ahava3233 reporting from Tohoku. In any event, I wanted to just make a statement about recent events.

Lieutenant Matt Kowalski (afc 😛) from the movie Gravity, played by the gorgeous George Clooney. PS: Kowalski_afc is as handsome as George Clooney irl!

So yeah, last night I saw this great movie that's currently playing in theatres called Gravity. The movie is a fictional tale that follows the escapades of two astronauts who become stranded in space after their shuttle gets hit by debris in a spacewalk. Watching those astronauts make their way thru orbit in an attempt to find their way back down to earth in one piece is a fantastic experience! I highly recommend the movie. If you see it, be sure to watch it in 3D if at all possible as it makes for a more immersive experience.

So in any event, at the beginning of the movie, Dr. Ryan Stone (played by Sandra Bullock) understandably starts panicking like crazy after being knocked away from the wreckage of her spacecraft while on a spacewalk. As a result, she starts hyperventilating and quickly loses oxygen...and this becomes a problem as the film continues on.

Now citizens, listen--I know you're really concerned about the result of the campaign in Chugoku and this war against RoC, as is noted here, but you can't forget what war in this game is...it's a matter of crowd-sourced gambling. People basically put their money and supplies down, and as a result, a country either wins or loses battles. The results of these battles result in it either winning or losing a campaign for a region. You can thus spend alot of money and still lose.

Thus, you don't want to spend money willy-nilly. Doing so is never the right thing to do unless you have an exhorbitant amount of cash to put down (which we don't). You rather want to maximize your chances of winning when you put your money down. I did just that when I took command of government funds disbursement during the second half of the Mitsunami War, and I'm giving advice to the government to do that here as well right now.

On a related note, just so you all know--even though 40k JPY has been budgeted for the national military, we have yet to spend a single yen of government money on military funding this month. Thus, unlike Dr. Ryan Stone in the movie Gravity we are thus taking care not to hyperventilate and run out "oxygen" so to speak. Money will be spent where it has a chance to achieve results. We will not end up like Portugal, whose government spent hundreds of thousands of escudos only to lose Chugoku to our forces 😉. We're saving that gold for the good fight when it will be more likely to get us results.

So, if you're asking whether or not there is a plan--have some faith and don't panic. Don't worry, we have a plan and are watching the situation closely. We will act accordingly as things evolve. So, continue fighting as you have, the government will support the battle strategically to get the results we want in the long run! That may mean losing some battles, or possibly even this entire war for now--but we'll slingshot back in the end as we always have. I have yet to see our persistence falter in any situation due to this community's everlasting patriotism. Thus, I'm sure we'll get through this even stronger than before!

Last thing we need right now though in my opinion is a hasty impeach over the results in Chugoku. Kowalski is certainly a resourceful guy (as he is in Gravity), but an impeach like this to kick out William of Edenbury and put him in power isn't the right call at the moment. Dissolving the government right now will only leave us in total disarray for a time, and thus if anything will be a detriment to our immediate situation and make Taiwan think we're vulnerable. If you want an impeach of course, do it in an organized fashion; feel free to discuss the matter on the forum here. Also, if you'd like to discuss our war strategy and give suggestions, you can discuss it here. Otherwise, the government will continue operating as it has been for the past few days and plan ahead for you as the situation evolves.
