Vote Arthur Wellesley: Simple is Good

Day 1,340, 21:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Arthur Wellesley

Friends, Britons, Countrymen… lend me your ears!

jk just read this.

I am Arthur Wellesley of the United Kingdom Reform Party and I am a candidate for London. I used to believe in long, lofty manifestos – but I don’t anymore, so you’re not going to get one. Instead, let me tell you a bit about me and what you can expect from me. I’m an old player. Some of you may remember me from hits such as “I Spent Six Months As Minister of Finance” and “I Used to be Party President of UKRP and FDP” as well as “I was an MP” and “I was in the House of Lords Back When It was Cool”. So, I could write the manifesto how about I’m all experienced and capable and steady, and make everyone feel like they were electing Dish, Jr. or something.

But I’m not going to do that, either.

I went on hiatus for about a year and, to be honest, I found a lot of eRepublik bewildering when I return. I still find parts of it complicated. Instead of that being a deal breaker, I think that means I bring something unique to the table: I used to be somebody and I know how to get things done, so you and I can go forward together in figuring this game out. I can represent you because I am representative of so many of you, particularly our new players.

If you elect me, I can promise that I’ll take a vested interest in what’s going on in the eUK, I will be a stalwart supporter of the UKRP and all of the lovely things that it stands for, and furthermore, I take the idea of Constituent Service seriously. If you have a problem with a government department, if you need a policy clarified, or if you just need someone to help you out – call on me and I’ll see what I can do. I’m not promising graft or favors – I’m promising that I’ll look after my constituents.

And so, ladies and gentlemen, I ask you to vote for me on the 25th. If you’re not in London, I encourage you to support the UKRP, and I encourage you to support our party.

-Arthur Wellesley, UKRP – London
