Cons
1. It shortened campaign duration considerably. With double points for most contested battles. I can see how this made it extremely difficult for smaller countries to hold regions. Some claimed that with a short burst of activity the smaller foe could seriously outdo the bigger one. Perhaps bring in more determination for smaller nations against their bigger foe on their original home regions.
2. It spreads players very thin all over the map. Perhaps bring in rules to limit the number of battles at a certain stage. This can be done with a meta arrangement between all alliances. Let's call it fair play rules for the republic(perhaps another player could elaborate on this. As this would require I think a lot of discussion and research which is beyond the bounds of this article.
3. It nerfed players strenght.
PROS
1. It was implemented already. So making it permanent wouldnt be difficult for the admins. Perhaps even a non update.
2. It limits strenght in a terrain. Meaning more players could be competitive in that area. For example division 4 required only 40000 strength.
Yes I know that tanks will always have hoarded more gold and bought more eb's which they use to suck the life out of the game for the rest of the players but atleast on a certain plain a player could be competitive and here and there snipe a medal from a greedy medal hog

In my opinion the terrain concept is too complicated, I almost didn't fight in terrain in the whole event. It's easier to decrease the strenght inequalities by more no-strenght battles like air battles.
By the way strenght inequality is a problem for many years now and I think it's not the main problem. Much worse are the inequalities created by the legend bonus which let only a few accounts in each country to be relevant.
I like that you could choose to fly every time. I'm low strength so waiting around 'til it's time to fly is tedious.
On the other hand, getting BH's with a single q1 500 dmg strike because no one bothered to have a look at the "Mud" terrain is madness.
It's an interesting topic of discussion but inevitably it's up to the eRep staff and sure good luck w/ that 😛
well it is implemented already. and anything implemented is just a few keystrokes away from a feature. same with that map thingy they had earlier the year that would also make a nice permanent feature.
During the event, each round consisted of:
2 terrains x 4 divisions
1 standard x 4 division
3 air sectors
Too complication and too many sectors.
I wish they would adopt it like this:
Each round just consisted of
1 terrain x 4 divisions
1 standard x 4 divisions
1 air sector
or maybe
1 terrain x 4 divisions
1 standard sector (all div can hit here)
1 air sector (all div can hit here)
yes that would help. and perhaps normal fighting instead of deploy. i dont know about you but it took me so long to just work out the amount of damage required for a bh with terrains. normal battles are way simpler,
