Re-election

Re-election.
Today, I announce my intention to seek a 3rd and final term as your President. Just to reiterate, after this next election, I will not be seeking a 4th term. After 2 months of stable leadership we have successfully built many great relationships inside of Asteria. I believe 1 more month of stable active leadership will be a step in the right direction for the alliance and build the confidence in our allies that was lacking when this administration came into office.

I believe 3 consecutive months to be a good standard for all Presidents. It’s enough time to achieve your goals, build confidence in the larger community and establish a narrative. Moreover, I think it is good for our allies to build a relationship with the President and offer continuity of leadership; something we are often missing. Over the past 2 months we have consistently assisted our allies in the critical battles that they faced. We used in-game communication threads to promote serious battles, built a very nice training war map and expanded it to all of our allies.

My time as President in 2021 is starkly different than my time as President in the early months of 2020. Back then we were cutting borders daily and managing our position as Code slowly declined. This time around, the world is conquered, we are largely safe and secure, it’s a time of peace and prosperity. In many ways this makes for a more boring game but with a bit of searching fun still exists, whether it is with party politics, the meta, or even the occasional invasion.
