Join the new world

I hope by now you've noticed the new advertising sidebar on the right hand side of your screen. I've seen a fairly wide variety of ads placed there and have clicked on a few of them to get additional information.

I had hoped that we would see quality and informative information made available through this new tool....But had my hopes dashed when I saw an ad (in incredibly poor English) begging for gold from us so that some poor sod could by Q5 weapons. Weapons that would probably be turned on the eUSA or one of our Allies (not seen too many folks posting in the eUSA that have problems with basic sentence structure etc.).

I think we've all seen an increased amount of gold and/or donation begging going on recently. One would hope that folks would turn to the tools available to us in game to obtain gol😛

1: Invite your friends (if you have any) to join the eRepublik and help them to level 6
2: Learn how to use the money market so you can buy/sell gold and currency for profit
3: When all else fails, open your wallet and buy gold IRL.

It should be our personal preogative to give gifts and donations to folks as we have the desire/opportunity to do so. To have you begging via shouts and the new ad bar for money just brings the whole experience down in my opinion. At least have the deceny to start your own paper and hold lotteries and contests. Be creative an find ways to earn your cash. Let's not turn the eRepublik into another World Of Warcraft where you find yourself constantly bombarded by strangers asking you for your hard earned gelt becuase they are unwilling to go and do what it takes to earn their own.

Hopefully you will all vote this up because you find it annoying as well. If we continue to see ads begging for materials/cash from us (when it is not an organization in place to help newbies like Meals on Wheels) I believe we will have to conclude that the ad system is a FAIL and needs closer monitoring to be a tool we can use to gain truly valuable information and insight.
