Christian: have gotten nowhere so why bother with continuing?
Agnostic: he should not care about, nor mind, continuing if he is strong in his beliefs.
Atheist: his beliefs are irrelevant and there is evidence that nothing matters.
Christian: -stops using facebook and goes to playing Erepublik for several days-

Sometimes a little effort is better than none, and when the ground bears only thorns or regular grass, it's time to burn the seeds with the plants.

Also, if all the parties involved don't succeed in making any compromise or concession they can be happy with, it's not a victory for anyone.

Defeat is sometimes the answer, because victory is not always understood in the moment.
