[SZ] A purpose

Day 4,719, 03:25 Published in South Africa Serbia by Don Croata.

Hi everyone

It’s fair to say that we all are playing this game in order to have some fun, meet friends or prove ourselves in one way or another. I’m not much of a gamer, I don’t play others games, I never played WOW, LOL, OMG or any other multiplayer game that seem to be very popular around here. What makes me stay here is the potential of this game. You can do wonders with only a couple of loyal and faithful friends. You can fight against all the odds, you can come up with great plans and strategies. You’re building something with other people. That kind of interaction is what I’m looking for in this game. However, whatever you do needs to have a purpose. Otherwise, everything I just said isn’t really relevant. It’s not really fun to build things in order to accomplish nothing or small rewards. It’s nothing fun about getting more money from TP medals, or being able to hunt gold if you’re not able to do something really worthy with that gold. What’s the point of the wars if the opposed side is just going to liberate themselves with no harm done in a near future. Everything needs a purpose, a true meaning, a reason for existance.

The only event with a purpose

*purpose
noun
“the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.”

We’re playing a game that simulates real world. You’re basicly a citizen, just like in the real life. You have your friends and you group yourselves based on various things. In real life it could be a book club, football team, your workplace department or anything else. In this game those groups are Military units and political parties. Lately, due to lack of players whole countries have become a small groups. Another thing this game simulates is the reason for existance. For example, simply two clicking and fighting where the orders are set doesn’t really means much if you have no idea why you’re doing so. This is why I always preferred smaller, but more organized countries or groups. Todays topic, however, is resource wars. One of the rare events that actually gives a purpose to the communities. It makes groups organize, spend half of their nights online, do something more than they’d usually do. Purpose is a key word. We’re all actually fighting to get something that’s going to have a true meaning in the coming years. We have a purpose to fight. Something this game is missing so badly, that when it suddenly come we all go back to being an active bunch. What makes me sad is that we’ll have to wait for another four years to have a purpose to fight once again.

Lurking in the circle

Unfortunately, after Resource wars ends we’ll move back to the same old boring game we’re playing for years. Summer event was kinda different and I’m really sorry I couldn’t spend more time to stock up some golds. Summer event was what events should really be about, do something temporary which will help you out in the future. Sure, it’s great to have events like that one, however, if the game itself isn’t providing much of a fun then events become just a tool to be a bit more successful in not having fun.

This game needs true changes, wars need to have a purpose. Communities must be the only way to achieve the national goals. Elections must have a bigger meaning. Political parties has lost almost any kind of an influence. Mostly due to game being very ignorant towards the new players. It’s not just the game, it’s the communities as well. We’ve all been around for far too long that we forgot some of the true reasons we got in here. Candidacy articles, promises, plans and all the other stuff that made this game great can now be replaced with a couple of strong tanks or heavy buyers who are going to put some CO in order to neutralise your efforts. Even worse, when the bot armies arrive all your efforts are being shut down by a simple click on a mouse.

That’s not the way this game used to be, this isn’t what made us all register and stay here. We’re still here for two reasons. First being the friends we’ve met, we kinda got used to them, it’s hard to say goodbye sometimes. The other one, the one I’m more familiar with is that this game still has a lots of potential. There’s always something we can do about all the flaws this game offers. Events like the Resource wars are the proof of it. You can see organized and active countries rise all of a sudden. Just imagine if the game itself had a purpose like this.

Lazocracy

When I asked my new friends what’s the meaning of “Lazo” in Lazocracy I didn’t expect to get such a great answer. Lazo means “my own kingdom” which is kinda great. This is something we all are looking from this game, our own kingdoms, our own groups and friends. Our own place to make rules, organize things and make an impact. “My own Kingdom” is probably the essential motive for the huge majority of the players.

I was looking to join a small and active community. There aren’t many of that kind around the world anymore. Especially the ones that rely on the Military Unit. I found that in Lazokrasi. Not only that, I also found several great people, awesome personalities that makes game experience better. I was looking for this kind of a motivation for a long time. My eIreland is half dead, almost all the players has left. After spending 10 years in a small country its hard to adopt to living in a big one. If I wasn’t gonna join the new community I’d probably just eDie in a couple of months. I saw no purpose staying here. I’m glad Lazokrats has accepted me, and I truly feel like I’m home again now. I’ll have to learn Turkish in order to remove that one downside of it.

Anyway, yeah, this game can be great sometimes. I wish it happens more often.

Yours,
ShakaZulu
