[SFP] Pick the Pickle

Day 3,738, 20:29 Published in USA USA by Dillon Richards

Dariuswolf recently announced he'll no longer be able to run for Party President of the Socialist Freedom Party due to a health issue. I think I speak not just for every SFP member, but for the eUSA as a whole when I say I can't wait to see you back on your feet, Darius.

With Darius having to take a (hopefully temporary) step back, the door is opened for others to step forward. I am announcing my run for Party President of the Socialist Freedom Party for the February-March 2018 term.

Cabinet:

Vice President - Salty

Salty was the first person I publicly supported for any office in eRepublik and I'm proud to have him at my side. You may remember him as our recent nominee for Country President where he scared the pants off of the establishment in his near-victory.

Secretary General - King James88
[Image Coming as soon as I get home tonight]

James was part of the Party a while back as the famous James Schubert. He's a knowledgeable and thoughtful guy that I'm looking forward to getting to know better. He did an excellent job as Secretary General under Leon Gutierrez, and I'm happy to have him on my team as well.

Councillor - Niemand

Niemand has been a voice of calmness in various seas of crazy for as long as I've been here. He's a hard worker, currently running the Q1 Housing Program for the Party. Niemand is one of the most trustworthy members of the Party and I have total faith in his ability to oversee the Treasury.

Spokesperson - Maxwell Hanz

Maxwell Hanz was Party President when I joined the SFP and is one of the finest writers we have. Max is incredibly easy to work with and always gets the job done. He's become a good friend of mine and I'm thrilled to have him (and his skills) on the team.

Platform:

My platform will focus around maintaining the momentum built up over the past months. With recent surges of membership, our regularly strong media presence, and a remarkably talented membership base, we're poised to do some terrific things in the coming months.

eInternationale (International Policy)
I want to be sure we keep our commitment to our international allies by continuing to engage with the eInternationale and that we continue to support its growth. This organization is a great tool to build lasting relationships with like-minded people from around the eworld and keep up on global events. Leon Gutierrez has led the eInternationale well during its re-founding and I think there's a very strong base for us to build on. If you're interested in meeting comrades from around the eglobe, let me know and I'll get you involved with the eInternationale!

Aggressively promote Mentorship Program (Domestic Policy)
We have a number of excellent programs and pretty much all of them are used. I'm sure you've all seen shouts about the Q1 housing program run by Niemand or the Training Ground upgrade program or daily rations program, both run by Jimmy. One program that hasn't taken off like I'd like for it to is the Mentorship Program.

eRepublik can be pretty confusing for newcomers. How much sense does it make that racking up levels as fast as you can is actually a terrible way to advance your account? Basically the opposite of Pokemon. This is why I think the Mentorship Program is so important. I'd like to aggressively advertise these mentorships to newer members. We have a wealth of generous and knowledgeable members, let's be sure we make good use of it!

Company Collective (Economic Policy)
I can't take credit for this idea. I saw it in a thread somewhere - either on the forum or one of the in-game PM groups. For the life of me I can't find it, but if I do (or someone knows), I'll give full credit to the person who first brought it up here.

The idea is, that SFP members who want to can join the Company Collective and contribute a set amount of USD per week to the Collective. As the pot builds up, the contributing members will take turns upgrading their companies from the collected funds. This idea is going to take some fleshing out. For instance, "How much should be contributed per week?" "How do we decide who gets the upgrade?" "What happens if someone misses a week?" But that's the benefit of having great thinkers in the Party - we don't have to work anything out alone.

Elections
What's the purpose of a political party? Running candidates. I feel like the Party has generally done quite well in Congress elections. A hickup here and there, but overall not too shabby. I have no reason to expect anything less for the next Congress race.

What excites me the most is the possibility of a Country Presidential win. If Salty's run in the last race proved anything it's that we can do this. We're a viable alternative to the status quo and people see that. We should continue to field CP candidates and provide the eAmerican public with a meaningful choice. This. Is. Possible. And it'll be a top priority for me in the coming term.

This concludes my platform. I hope there's something in there that you're interested in. If not, throw some suggestions my way. I'm looking forward to a good month filled with excitement.

When it comes voting time, do the right thing: pick the pickle.
