o7 Orion and Allies

We didn't forgot you !

Party isn't over and there is still many content to come , don't leave
You will soon have something different than interviews 😉
But today here is Hitoyoshi with an Interview of Lonestar a swedish player and former Orion's member !

Hito : Can you present yourself a bit ?

Lonestar : So my name is Lonestar, I have hold more or less all positions in eSweden, including President for five months and have been involved in alliance activities since EDEN days.

Hito : Why did you decide to take part to the creation of Orion ?

Lonestar : Asgard, the alliance Sweden was part of before Orion, had show itself to be quite the failed experiment and despite its longevity, had been an inactive cooperation long before it was dissolved. Now Sweden for quite a while decided to be without an alliance and then we looked into other options, two became real, Nebula and Orion (and for a while, Pacifica). We moved on with our plants with primary Iran, France and Canada to create what was then named Orion.

Hito : What was the main goal of Orion ?

Lonestar : Two things were at the core of Orion, not having multiple smaller countries run the Alliance and to ensure that we had an active as well as an invested leadership to lead the alliance. We felt initially that this was something that Orion could give us, and Sweden additionally felt we needed to get back into the international political scene again. We had made a few tries with smaller regional Alliance and to run without an alliance, both had resulted in Sweden coming out worse.

Hito : What did you expect from Orion ?

Lonestar : Orion started off great and I think many of us feel that although there was quite a few periods of inactivity within the alliance, when new and energized leadership was elected, the alliance became great for a while. I think I would claim that Sweden had a great time in Orion, and many of the countries in the alliance are still part of our MPP stash. An interesting note, Sweden didn’t really join the Orion when it was initially created, one of the youngest and less popular Swedish Presidents, intyala wasn’t aware of how the process worked and bypassed Congress, in return Congress rejected Orion and instead we joined during the second initiative to launch the alliance.

Hito : Why did Sweden choose to leave Orion ?

Lonestar : At the start of 2016, Sweden really didn’t feel comfortable with Orion and the leadership that had been running the Alliance. For several periods of time, Orion was more or less inactive and the direction that the Alliance had taken was not the preferred one. After conversations with some of our friends in the alliance, mainly Iran and Canada, Sweden decided to leave Orion, although we maintained good relations to most of the alliance members. Sadly, I read that both Iran and Peru decided to leave Orion a month after Sweden left, I would assume they shared some of the feelings about Orion that Sweden had.

Hito : How are things in Pacifica ?

Lonestar : Although I am not very updated on the situation with Pacifica at the moment, I was very happy with how the initial year went. The alliance is very active and the leadership invests both time and effort to ensure that the countries are involved in decision processes on the different matters that are discussed. Another great point with Pacifica is how the regional interest align with those of Sweden, also we like Finns.

That's all for today! But tune in tomorrow for some more action 😉
