Day 3,819, 05:21 Published in United Kingdom France by Hell The Great

Dearest subjects, today I will present the final article in my platform for this election, but before I begin to discuss policy, I’d like to once again ask for applicants to Government.

So far I have yet to receive any firm declarations of interest, and whilst your supportive messages and well wishes are always happily received, I really do need people to step up. We have made some great progress over the last couple of months, but as I have said in my previous articles: we are far from finished. We can be so much more if we are willing to work together, and with a large enough group of players working with me to do this, I’m confident we’ll be able to exceed expectations once again. We still nee😛

Ministry of Defence (1x Minister, 2x Assistant)
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1x Assistant)
Ministry of Home Affairs (1x Minister, 2x Assistant)
Ministry of Finance (1x Assistant)

I speak with at least 10-15 players every day, so I am more than confident that amongst that group, as well as the UK at large, we have more than enough capable, active and interested players to fill the above positions. Please don’t hesitate to PM me and let me know what you can do. This is a great opportunity to get more involved in the community side of the game and really the time commitment isn’t huge, especially for the assistant positions. So get in touch.

Now onto the main focus of this manifesto; our military affairs. First and foremost, I’m pleased to announce that the funding has been put in place to organise the launch of a Pilots MU. This policy is something I have wanted to enact for a long time, but struggled to find a group of players who were willing to work together and engage. From day 1, my main focus of the month will be the establishment and maintenance of this Military Unit, which we will be using to try to engage all new UK players, as well as those younger players without the strength to compete on the ground in the same way. The MU will be funded with a mix of government money and generous private support, with the government funding only used to fund any shortfall from the private funds I have managed to source.

The MU will set Combat Orders (COs) for ALL air rounds of ALL battles we are deployed in, and ensure that UK players who want to improve their air rank, as well as new signups, have as many air rounds as possible to fight in. Generous COs will ensure that new players are rewarded for investing their time and energy in a smart way, and old players are compensated for the lack of TP/BH medals that will come from focusing on air rounds. COs will vary slightly depending on economic conditions, but I estimate an average rate of 30k cc. This will vary depending on the initial take up, but as I've budgeted for a roster of around 40 fighters, I'm sure we'll be more than able to meet this.

As the above paragraph mentions deployed battles, you may have already noticed that we are frequently ‘deployed’ and thus able to fight in many of the world’s key battles without moving. This isn’t just a testament to the work I’ve put in; it’s also an acknowledgement that our damage output is something that our allies value, and that for our size, we can pack a punch when we need to. Our frequent deployments to fight for our allies also make a clear statement regarding our global position: we are no longer the country who seems to float in neutrality. Thus, as well as the MU being a haven for those who will follow Government advice and focus on their air rank, it will also continue to be used to set COs and encourage troops to fight for allies in key battles. As well as that, we'll also experiment with deployments in allied battles that are not key, just to remind them that we're still alive and kicking.

Our Foreign Affairs strategy for this month will be to work on strengthening the crucial relationships with our allies, both old and new. It’s important that we continue to maintain a solid position in such uncertain times, not just to ensure self-preservation, but also to ensure that when offensive measures are discussed we are included. Whilst our previous Airstrike was a spectacular flop, the fact that our allies trusted us enough to engage with us is an important (although admittedly less than glamorous) milestone. In the coming months, there will be more opportunities, and we need to ensure that we are in a position to take advantage of them. We already have a seat at the table, but with continued hard work, we can achieve much more than just a seat.

Our military coordination is important, but a reliable and well stocked group of players who use maverick packs is something countries around the world are able to use to win wars. All countries are using a steady stream of gold income from training wars to upgrade their citizens, stock those willing to invest the time and effort to fight with energy bars, and ensure that there is a sizable lump of damage available for both offensive and defensive measures.

We cannot continue to fall behind. We cannot continue to ignore the changes in gameplay, or allow our rivals to build such gargantuan stockpiles. The sooner we begin to farm, the quicker we’ll be able to catch up. It is no coincidence that countries like Croatia have tens of players able to tank billions of damage when necessary. They use the training wars effectively. Whilst this month I have made tentative efforts to try this, I will seek to take full advantage of training war(s) to ensure that we are able to upgrade citizens, ensure we have a group of well-stocked big hitters able to farm gold to buy energy bars, and then utilize such a group to ensure we’re able to pack a mean punch when we need to. Once we have such guaranteed and quantifiable damage, the role of Minister of Defence and President will then be as it is for our allies; making offensive plans and ensuring a stream of wars to keep all citizens engaged and intrigued.
