First of all, I would like to thank Albania again for being such great partners in the Training War we're having with them. It's been immensely beneficial to both parties, and it's been quite easy to maintain, and we will be maintaining it for the foreseeable future

On foreign affairs. This month, Ireland had to make a difficult choice. A choice between great allies who have always been there to help, Bulgaria and Macedonia, and Croatia, another important ally that, sadly, has disappointed not only Ireland, but many of our friends as well. Croatia is still under Serbian occupation, Adriatica is still disorganized and dysfunctional, and it was still an excellent decision on our part to leave. Part of this process has been a shift from Adriatica to what is known as "Nexus": (Bulgaria, Macedonia, Indonesia, UK, Spain, Ireland, et al.) which, as an alliance, is anti-Pacifica but otherwise neutral. Ireland is once again among countries that have respect for us, and appreciate what we can do for the benefit of allies, although we are small.
Although the above is important, this section is most important! so please pay attention! Tomorrow, we will wage war against New Zealand. This is not a grudge, simply an opportunity. New Zealand is a weaker country, militarily, and it has a somewhat strategic importance as it bridges South America with Asia.
The AS law has been proposed, and the attack will occur sometime tomorrow, the 29th of September. Please pay attention to your feeds and PMs in order to coordinate the attack and ensure our success!

Ok , I am exempt of eRep enough not to know it was a Training war with Albania but I don't recall Ireland attacking another country before just because she can, did we before?
we have attacked uk in the past because we could. they will win the tri nations but i will feast on their e-bodies.
I wouldn't worry too much, NZ is just a small Serbian colony.

A private Irish citizen had millions in CC which he wanted to use for some fun, we discussed this in the commune, and we chose a target based on chance of success.
This article does not clearly set-out the "why" and "how" this decision came to pass, that may lead to all sorts of accusations. It does lack some form of transparency. I have an issue with that. You've sort of dealt with that in this message, but I'm not sure its enough
Were there any concerns raised in the commune about this course of action and were those concerns addressed? If not, I would have to question the value of the commune.

The commune had concerns about an AS, namely, that it would put eIreland at risk. We spent about a week and a half discussing potential targets until we chose one that we all felt was both attainable and safe.
That's a good answer and because of it, I have less concerns. It would have been nice if that had been stated in the CP statement, because it didn't come across to me as a calculated decision of the commune.
