Today We Remember

Day 5,371, 17:13 Published in Switzerland Ireland by OogieBoogie3

Hello citizens, I know I've been a polarizing figure recently, and well, I've always been. But I must reiterate that despite of my aggressive criticism of government and the current powers that be, I'd like to now reach my hand out and assure everyone here that I am undyingly loyal to the home team. Uncle Rican can attest to this loyalty, as he has been a long time colleague of mine through the most challenging and divisive of times here in our great Switzerland. Today I would like to talk about how I am so militantly adamant about a an open and public government that keeps everyday citizens in the loop of goings-on within the government, and as the title suggests, leave a tribute to one of eSwitzerland's great Presidents and hero - mungos032.

Few will likely remember the controversy revolving around the old SPP - or Swiss Pirate Party - and their leader, one of our most polarizing presidents, and TRAITOR Blackbeard00.

There was a time in which I served as Switzerland's Prime Minister under mungos032's administration, during a period of high-stakes political warfare with Blackbeard's SPP, with the threat of imminent war looming between Switzerland and our once arch-nemesis, Slovenia. As Prime Minister, I was more or less the public voice of the republic, making announcements on behalf of the government, and filling the public in on the drama and controversies revolving around this political quarrel with the SPP, and the threat of literal war - war that most likely would not have ended favorably for Switzerland.

A lot of the details revolving around the SPP are still pretty foggy today - a lot of accusations of treason (which would later prove true), and general hostility towards the rest of the government. There was no unity - the SPP wanted full control over the government to establish some sort of pirate utopia. They had also made congressional decisions in secret that had a negative impact on the economy, and begun granting citizenship to foreign agents with the intent of a political takeover. When they knew they had lost, Blackbeard struck a destructive deal with Slovenia that took soon-to-be re-elected president mungos032 a lot of trouble to resolve. This corruption set Switzerland back by months and remains a permanent stain on the integrity of government. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it was the reality at the time.

But thanks to the amazing leadership of then president and eventual opposition leader mungos032, we were able to stave off war with Slovenia, and eventually defeat Blackbeard00 in convincing fashion. If you want more details about this fiasco within the Swiss government, you can retrace some of these steps by traveling far enough back in time on this here newspaper - I made quite a fair amount of announcements regarding this situation. It's a good read, and even better history lesson.

But I think it's important to recognize mungos032 as one of Switzerland's great patriots and leaders, and erect a monument in his honor along with the likes of JNArno, another one of Switzerland's great leaders. We wouldn't be where we are today without these great patriots and the blood, sweat, and tears they committed to keeping Switzerland a safe, accepting, and free nation - neutral from the world's conflicts, and a model community for unity and prosperity.

Long Live mungos032

Long Live Switzerland!
