The Trekk-Man Cometh (TT4PP)

Day 5,501, 19:29 Published in USA USA by Trekker Tlumac

Greetings fellow Carbon-based lifeforms (and you helium freaks too, I see you). Trekker “the sexiest lizard” Tlumac here to talk about you with some real talk.

It’s been a while since I’ve been active. Over a year, really, since I last logged in for anything more than to stay eAlive. The reasons why are not important at this juncture, to be honest, and I may get into those reasons at another time. But now is not that time.

I’ve done a disservice to The 506 by being so dispassionately disconnected to the goings on in eRep. In that lapse of attention paid, something unthinkable happened, the party got PTO’ed.

Before we get into the semantics of what quantifies a “PTO” or start to field complaints about the use in terminology, let me state why it was used in this case:

The candidate that won the last last party presidential election changed the alignment and name of the party. They changed the details of the party to reflect their own personal real life beliefs, and have no ties with anyone in leadership. That suggests malicious intent to co-opt the party.

It seems like a fairly quick and easy case of PTO to me.

Another, and, arguably, more important question is: why do I care?

That is an understandable question, especially as I openly admit that I have not been very aware as of late.

I could go over the whole bit of “I still believe in The 506”. A lot of you would call bullshit on that (arguably justified). So I won’t hinge my statement on just that.

So maybe I’ll just give a bit of personal history and connection I have with the party.

In the summer of 2015 I found myself at a crossroads. I had just finished up my last term as CP and I needed a change of pace. I made an incredibly difficult decision for myself, which was to move on from the Fed party, which I had been a part of leadership for the two years prior to that. But upon moving on, I found myself stuck with a particularly tiresome quandary. I loved the Fed party (once a Fed, always a Fed), but I needed a change. That left me unable to feel good about joining any of the other T5 (or 6th) parties from there. Though I had friends in most of them.

So I coughed up the 40 gold to make my own party. I named it the Thunder Buddies, in honor of a friend, because I had no idea what else to call it. And that is how it sat briefly (like a week or two at most). But almost immediately it came up in EZC leadership that there was a chunk of EZC that wanted little to do with politics and didn’t really have a place to hang out and not do anything.

I promptly donated Thunder Buddies to EZC instead of having one of the Officer core make a new party. It became the first iteration of the EZC party, The EZC Apolitical Party. It was originally seen as a place for us old farts that just liked clicking the big red button (back when they still had it. Oh, I miss that button so) to clump together.

It worked. A little too well. Almost immediately people flocked to it and there was some concern that we would actually pop into the T5 and stay there, thereby making us a political party whether we wanted it or not. There were measures taken to halt this, obviously. And that is where things were at the end of 2015 when I more or less left the game originally.

Why does that story matter?

It doesn’t. Not to most of you.

And I am willing to bet that it doesn’t matter to Marjorie Taylor Greene either.

It matters to me. It is part of my story, a part that I am incredibly attached to. The party, currently known as January 6th Patriots, doesn’t matter to many people. The fact that MTG unilaterally decided to change the name and co-opt the party to make a political statement about a situation outside of eRep shows that they don’t give a damn about the party either.

But I do.

This is my party. It has always been my party to some extent.

And I am coming for it.

The Trekk-Man comes for you.

Vote Trekker Tlumac to restore The 506 to the original administration. And vote Trekker Tlumac to keep it the way the party was meant to be. Vote Trekker Tlumac to put the party back in the hands of the person that was there at the moment of its conception and during its rebirth.

Vote Trekker Tlumac for The 506.

Also… If you are at all interested in the real-life namesakes of the party and the MU, I encourage you to read up about the 506 Infantry Regiment and its legendary E Company. To get you started, I have included the wiki links to both below.

Here’s the 506th
Here’s E Company

Until next time,
