Day 1,019, 13:48 Published in Canada Albania by Roger Griswald

Todays highlights:

eSpain

As reported yesterday, eSpain’s now impeached Country President (CP) Ramso opened battles with eVenezuela, eMexico and eFrance. Many citizens thought that those battles were merely to activate MPPs against the eNation, however Ramso’s plans for his native eNation were far more sinister. Last night, with the impeachment vote against him entering its final hour, eSpain began attacking region after region in eFrance and surprisingly eFrance started retreating from the battles (allowing eSpain easy passage). After two rounds of region capturing, it became quite clear that eSpain and eFrance were creating a path to the eUK.

As eSpain captured the region of Upper Normandy (borders the English Channel); the eUK began its move, attacking and capturing all of the regions eSpain had taken from eFrance minutes before. The well-executed collaboration between the three eNation CPs, put the eUK on eSpain’s door step within 30 minutes. The next stage in Ramso’s plan became clear; he would attempt to let the eUK capture all of eSpain’s regions. Within a matter of minutes the eUK had taken four eSpanish regions (though 1 region was traded back). Luckily for eSpain, Ramso’s time ran out as his impeachment finally kicked in, preventing him from retreating any additional regions.

The overall toll to eSpain caused by Ramso has been great. The eNation lost regions on three continents: all three of its regions in eVenezuela (thus eliminating all eSpanish regions in South America); four of its regions in eMexico (leaving only one region, Southeast of Mexico, the only remaining one in the Western Hemisphere – though they would most likely have lost the region as well if the war module hadn’t froze). With these regions added to the losses on eSpanish soil (from the eUK), Ramso’s treachery cost the eNation 10 regions, 2,000 residents, hundreds of companies, and thousands in gold.

Beyond the impact on eSpain, it is still unclear what the transgression will mean to the eWorld economy and the status of wars between eNations. While eSpainish citizens are calling for retaliation against eFrance and eUK for their actions, the level of participation this will have from EDEN (of which eSpain is the second largest member) and Pheonix (to which eFrance and eUK belong) is not yet known. However many high-ranking citizens around the world are speculating that yesterdays actions have the makings of the start of a new World War.

eUK's MoFA published this article regarding their action: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-uk-ignore-the-spaniards-a-general-update-1507320/1/20

eIndia (Hacked?) and eSerbia

In a statement from Phoenix yesterday, the alliance claimed months of negotiations between eSerbia and eIndia finally paid off and that the eNation had been granted the rights to land-swap from their occupied regions in ePakistan to the Southeastern shore of eIndia.

However, in an article from come2findu, eIndia’s Country President (CP), he claims that his “account was hacked and swaps were done” while he was occupied with RL circumstances (moving to college). In a ticket the CP submitted, he asks the “admin to change back everything and give India her own regions”. (View his entire article: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/presidential-statement1-1506868/1/20)

Whatever circumstances took place, the result is that eSerbia now has access to the South East Pacific. In an official Phoenix communiqué, the alliance announced that eSerbia plans to remove itself from all eIndian regions within the next 48 hours and will be region swapping into eIndonesia tomorrow. Sources indicate that eSerbia’s final destination is the high-titanium eAustralian region of Northern Territory.

eSouth Africa

Yesterday a Resistance War (RW) was launched in the eBrazilian-controlled region of Gauteng (for background on the circumstances surround eBrazil gaining the region read my article from Day 1,014).

While officially the RW was started by eSouth Africa (eSA) citizen, mulderpf, in an article he published yesterday he stated that he “had received money” to start the RW. Naturally this led to people questioning where the money had come from. While nothing can be confirmed, eBrazilian sources accuse the current Country President of eSA, Stadler City (a eHungarian PTOer), of funneling the money to mulderpf as a way of getting back at eBrazil for attacking eSA while it was already under his (and Phoenix) control. When asked for comment regarding the situation, mulderpf replied “no comment”.
eBrazil was able to hold onto the region last night, as the war module crashed prior to the slated end time of the battle, it is impossible to determine whether the RW would have been a success.

War Module (Fail x2) : Update

As reported yesterday, the war module froze do to the number of troops in active battles (particularly in Far Eastern Russia). The admin’s response was to simply grant ownership of each region to each fight force that had satisfied the victory conditions at the time that the froze took place.

Last night the War Module froze yet again locking players into or out-of battles raging on four continents.

eCanada

Today, the eUK re-captured the region of Northern Ireland, thus ending eCanada’s occupation of regions in the British Isles. For most of the month of August, eCanada had occupied eUk regions and while the most recent flare up of hostilities between the two eNations started with much excitement, it ended today with the two eNations mustering up less than 70 troops in the final hour of the battle.
